“Take pride in how far you’ve come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don’t forget to enjoy the journey.”

This has been a week of reflection for me…reflected on both the past, present, and future.

Past: My college HC, Dennis Franchione aka Coach Fran, passed away. I took time to reminisce on the life lessons and foundational principles he instilled in us…things I teach my team to this day. He was the first name on my resume. He was the definition of consistent. I will forever be indebted to him for believing in me. S/O to my TXST teammates Bryan and Justin for pulling up to our game this week. Much love✊🏽

Present: Our last QB from BA, George MacIntyre, made his first start today vs Arkansas. I’m so proud of my guy for staying true to the process since Day 1. He’s always been destined for today and beyond! Along the same line…S/O to my guy Tommy Bauchiero on his 1st FG in college for Rice University. So PROUD of you both!

Future: Our seniors are slowly headed off into the future that God has planned for them. I’m so thankful to be their HC & AD. They are laying the foundation for what Denison ISD Athletics will stand on into the future. Finally, our village of coaches kids is a beautiful sight and such a blessing!

Just a few thoughts. “Praise God from whom all blessings flow.” #IGTBAYJ 🙏🏽❤️

“It’s GREAT to be a Yellow Jacket!” - Coach Marty Criswell

In 1981, Coach Criswell introduced a statement that would ultimately become Denison’s motto. The foundation he built is what we firmly stand on today. There’s no place like home…especially when you’re referring to Denison, TX. Onward to Week 5 ✌🏽🐝
