as some may or may not know, in august of 2025 my father collapsed while doing his weekly volunteer work with @wrightpathoutreach. after that moment, we decided it would be best for him to have follow up testing done, just to make sure there wasn’t something more serious going on beneath the surface.

during the process of trying to figure out what could have caused it, the test results came back with extremely unsettling news. the doctors told us there was a high probability that cancer was developing and that he would need to undergo an immediate biopsy. hearing those words is something that instantly changes the weight of everything around you.

at the time, i had just moved back to school. carrying that uncertainty while waiting for answers was honestly one of the hardest things i’ve ever had to deal with. not knowing what the outcome would be, trying to stay focused on daily life, and at the same time processing the possibility of something that serious was a heavy feeling to sit with. i didn’t know exactly how to feel or what would come next. more than anything, i had never seen my dad look that shocked before, and that alone was difficult to witness.

but through it all, i never allowed myself to doubt the doctors doing their work or my dad’s resilience. i’m deeply grateful for every person who prayed for him, checked in on our family, and kept him in their thoughts throughout this process. those prayers and that support meant more than i can properly express.

dad, i’m incredibly proud of you for facing this situation with the strength and calm that you did. even through the uncertainty, you carried yourself with the same steady spirit and that same smile that has always defined who you are. watching you push through this reminded me again how strong you truly are.

life is a precious thing, and moments like this make that clearer than ever. i’m beyond grateful to have a role model like you in my life, someone who continues to show what resilience, faith, and perseverance look like in real time.

you are a true warrior and a deeply loved individual.

this is a big win in what has been a hard fought battle.
love you man.
