“Black Joy is the highest form of revolution.

During the SHARED HISTORY OF THE WORLD – 1st Global Afrofuturistic Conference in Amsterdam, Yvonne Apiyo Brändle-Amolo reminded us:
‘It’s the best thing you can give the enemy when they want to kill you.’

Black Joy is not just survival - it’s creation, resilience, and celebration.
👉🏾 What does Black Joy mean to you?”

“There is no love without action.”

Artist-scholar @keepgrowingq - Quentin VerCetty (@Astrosankofa/ BSAM Canada) breaks down the true meaning of Sankofa:
Colonization erased the outer twirls but not their meaning.
One turns inward: memory and love.
One turns outward: movement

This is Sankofology, the restoration of knowledge through action.

Shared at the 1st International Afrofuturism Global Congress - Shared History of the World, hosted by First Noble Studios, where ancestral futures were reclaimed.

How do you live Sankofa?

“Stop asking for permission to be great.”
— Stacey Robinson, live at Shared History of the World in Amsterdam.

This wasn’t just a panel.
It was a shift in the timeline—where the Global North and Global South aligned at the 1st International Afrofuturism Global Congress, powered by First Noble.

Because greatness isn’t given. It’s claimed.

What’s one thing you’re done asking permission for?

Stumbled upon this beautiful homage at Harriett’s Bookshop in Philadelphia – Octavia, captured in paint, a familiar photograph reimagined in vibrant strokes. It’s a quiet thrill to see her presence blossom even within the intimate spaces of our beloved bookstores, a testament to the enduring connection readers feel to her work. To know that in Philly, and beyond, her stories continue to inspire reflection on the legacy she so thoughtfully crafted. She held a pragmatic optimism for us, a belief in our capacity to navigate the shadows with intention, to weave collaboration into the fabric of change. Even when her narratives led us through darkness, she illuminated the unwavering courage that resides within us, the potential to be the very transformation she envisioned.
