Today I received a message that we lost a Marine… Barack’s roommate and a friend. This is hard to understand. We spoke just last week after you got admitted, and you told me you were going to make some life changes and get healthy.

We’ve been out since 2006, but I’ve always checked up on you. I even got you to come down and visit. You were always on my mind because deep down I worried that something like this could happen.

I’d be lying if I said this doesn’t hurt. This one is painful.

I still remember you calling me a couple years ago talking shit, saying if you ever passed you wanted to make sure all the boys knew. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there. I’m sorry you carried that pain for so many years. I understand… and I know how heavy it can be.

I hope one day I’ll see you again and we can sit there and bullshit like we always did.

Love you, brother. I’ll never forget you.

Its been a crazy 4 years and im more than grateful to all of the people involved in my journey. It felt long at times and too short at others yet I don’t regret a single thing. I hope the rest of my career is filled with just as many amazing people and opportunities.

First West Virginia National Team camp in the books!

We saw some great scrapping this past weekend at the newly built home of the WV National Team. There's a lot of great talent, incredible coaches & parents who are working tirelessly to grow girls wrestling in this state! 🙌

Thank you to @bsemery81 for setting this up and inviting us Rio coaches to run the camp. Thank you to Coach Evans, Coach Ward, and coach Supanik for your insight and support for these young athletes.

This is only the beginning! Can't wait for next year🔥💪
