POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A few months back, @angchisholm and I wrote this song, Dwelling Place. It’s a constant prayer of mine - especially in this season. I was given the opportunity to share this song on my final Sunday at @mountainwestchurch . If there were one message I could give the people that I’ve led, it would be this!

You are my God
I’m Your temple
Consecrated
For no other

Purify me
God, refine me
‘Til I’m a dwelling place fit for a King
Cleanse me of everything
Unfit for Your glory
‘Til I’m a dwelling place fit for a King

What a mystery
What a kindness
That You chose me
Put coals on my lips

I’m running after holiness
Chasing after righteousness
To be a living sacrifice
For Your glory

Every idol that I’ve loved
And lies I’ve let into my home
I’m evicting all of them
For Your glory

My soul cries out for more of You
Come inhabit every room
Until the day I see the fullness of Your glory

Here I am, Lord
Come and use me
For Your Kingdom
For Your glory

After 7 years of incredible ministry at Mountain West Church, yesterday was my final Sunday. It’s hard to step away from a ministry, a place, and a people that has been home for so long. But God called me and Melanie there for a season - and it’s up to us to obey now that He’s calling us to another.

I am so grateful to my pastor, Mo Huggins, for the incredible privilege it has been to lead ministry with him for the past 5 years. I’m thankful for his friendship, his trust, and his belief in me to lead well. I also want to thank him for honoring and blessing me in the days and weeks that followed my conversation with Him. He’s been extremely kind and gracious to me and my family. I’m excited to see how far and wide God will continue to bless the wonderful ministry at Mountain West Church under his leadership!

Please pray for me and Melanie - that we would see God revealing what our next step is. And that we would be fully obedient to Him.

To those who have been with us at Mountain West Church - thank you for loving my family so well. You are our family, and we love you all dearly. Words aren’t enough. We love you.

This is the big crazy truth about what Jesus has given us. No amount of good works, earning, striving can make you holy or righteous enough to merit Gods approval. Nothing. Ever. But God Himself became man in order to be the FINAL and only payment for mankind’s sin. When we receive that forgiveness, it makes us pure and blameless before God. Thank you Jesus for paying the price. I don’t deserve it, but I’m so thankful!! #worship #music #church #worshipleader

The decision to truly follow Christ is devastating. Not trying to be provocative… it just is. It requires us to let go of every notion we had for our own lives, careers, level of comfort. It’s saying that I will no longer live my life on my own terms.

We Christians want to have relationship with God on our own terms. We obey God when it’s convenient. We live our lives, invoking God only when we feel the grip of control loosening from our own hands. And as soon as we feel like we have a grip again - “thanks, God. I got it from here.”

God is a consuming fire. He is not a tool we can wield. Woe to any of us who don’t recognize His holiness and purifying fire. If we are going to pursue Him, we must obey Him. In ALL areas. When we follow Christ, we effectively lose our lives.

This is the symbolism of baptism. When we go under water, it is the old self DYING. And what comes up out of the water is the NEW self. One who is fully committed to Christ.

What areas in your life have you tightened your grip on? Maybe today it’s time to let go and submit it to God.

What could God do in your life and through your life if your heart-cry was, “Jesus have it all. All my days - All my life.”

Your Cross —> my freedom
I was a slave to sin. I was dead in my trespasses. And there was nothing I could do to change that. Only Jesus had the power to free me from the chains of sin.

Your stripes —> my healing
It should have been me on the cross. It’s what I deserve in contrast with a perfect God. But Jesus was wounded for our transgressions - bruised for our iniquity. And though we deserved death, Jesus stepped in and provided just payment. And now instead of death, we have been healed and reconciled back to God.

Your Blood, still speaking
The blood of Jesus - that is, the payment that was required to eliminate the penalty of sin was perfect and complete. That forgiveness of sin is STILL available to you and me. Receive God’s forgiveness TODAY.

Your Love, still reaching
God shows His love for us in that while we were STILL sinner - continuing to sin against Him - Christ STILL chose the cross. God loves you - even as you’re walking in sin. If you’ve ever wondered, maybe this is for you. He’s calling out to you even in this moment to come home to Him.

Glory to God Forever
That’s our response to a perfect, good, loving, just God.

The more I understand who God is and what He’s done for me, the more I understand that worship is the only proper response.

Worship isn’t a show —it’s the response of a heart that’s been captivated by His holiness, goodness, grace and mercy.

Worship begins with gratitude.

I don’t want to lose my wonder. I don’t want to stop remembering. It’s what leads me to give Him the praise He alone deserves.
