I’m not usually one to make birthday posts. I really try to avoid that attention.

But this past year was different.

I treat my birthday as my New Year. I start it with a spiritual fast, time in reflection, and intentional planning with God.

Last year, my prayer was simple:

Alignment.

And looking back, this year was nothing short of that. Professionally and personally, I found myself becoming more aligned with what is meant for me as I continue navigating this life.

This post is what alignment looked like:
* Started my new year presenting in front of thousands at a national conference in my hometown
* Served as Best Man in my brother’s wedding. S/O Colt & Steph
* Took our first trip to Seattle, WA
* Presented at conferences with the Mayor of Omaha in attendance
* Spoke in front of the Omaha Public Schools Superintendent
* Connected with Coach & Mentor Inky Johnson
* Ran my first 5K
* Expanded our work into college athletics on the national level
* Visited Detroit for the first time at the BTF Summit
* Proposed at a global conference
* Spent time with family in ATL. S/O Jill & J
* Had dinner on the 75th floor in ATL with more family. No S/O to the shooter 😂 S/O Dar & Steph
* Got to spend a weekend with family at my dawgs wedding. S/O T & Syd
* Stepped back into the gym to pour into youth at a National Exposure Camp
* Ended the year with a move to KC and my first NFL game

And that’s probably only about 25% of the year... I wouldn’t do y’all like that and post the other 75% 😂

But seriously, what a blessing this past year has been.
The opportunities.
The relationships.
The growth.
The transitions.
The answered prayers.
The unexpected moments.

When I asked God for alignment, I didn’t know exactly what that would look like. Now I can look back and see it.

God, I’m ready for this year. 🙏🏾

I am incredibly blessed to have been a part of the 2026 @btf_program Player Development Summit in Detroit.

It was an honor to share what I’ve learned about financial stewardship, life after sports, and building a foundation that lasts far beyond the final whistle.

I’m equally grateful for the opportunity to learn from, listen to, and connect with so many incredible speakers, attendees, and professionals. The relationships and conversations were just as valuable as the time on stage.

The mission remains the same: learn relentlessly, serve intentionally, and leave people better than I found them.

On to the next. ✝️

With the start of July, we wanted to look back at all the amazing things and people we have met throughout June. In June, we had sessions with Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, Think360, Beyond The Field, Los Angeles Chargers and the Seattle Seahawks. We want to thank all of the amazing groups we met and grew with!

Thank you.

Those were the only words I could get out as I was handed a personalized Pistons jersey.

I had a speech ready.

I wanted to thank everyone who made the 2026 Player Development Summit possible.

But when I looked out and saw more than 155 people gathered in one room, I got emotional.

All I could say was:

Thank you.

The truth is, building @btf_program hasn’t been easy.

Building the Player Development Summit over the last four years has been one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve ever done.

There have been lonely days.

Days filled with doubt.

Days where I wondered if I should keep going.

As builders, we carry things that most people never see.

The long nights.

The sacrifices.

The setbacks.

The uncertainty.

But one thing I’ve learned is this.

Every time I felt like giving up, someone showed up for me.

A volunteer.

A speaker.

A sponsor.

A mentor.

A friend.

Someone who reminded me that this mission is bigger than me.

No one knows everything that goes into creating an event like this.

They don’t see every obstacle.

They don’t have to.

They simply choose to believe in the vision.

Standing on that stage and looking out at every seat filled, I realized something.

People believe in Beyond The Field.

People believe in the mission of developing people and elevating programs.

That moment meant more to me than I can put into words.

To everyone who attended, volunteered, spoke, sponsored, partnered with us, or encouraged me along the way, thank you for showing up.

I’ll never take it for granted.

Tremendous gratitude for the opportunity to open the @btf_program Player Development Summit in Detroit last week 🙏🏼

Endless thank you’s go out to @ed_jones2 for trusting me with your vision and platform to help set the tone for our time together.

My goal was simple: give the audience a tool they can take back to their athletes while also creating an experience that allowed everyone to arrive intentionally, connect as a group, and choose how they wanted to show up for the next two days.

We talked about visualization as a trainable cognitive skill that helps anyone get better at anything.

Whether you’re an athlete on the field or a player development professional in the office, visualization helps you become more intentional about how you’d like to perform.

Add sound frequency and breathwork into the mix and it becomes an incredibly powerful nervous system regulation tool for managing stress, pressure, and performance.

Because often it’s not the most talented teams that win, it’s the most regulated ones.

The ones with a clear vision.
The ones who stay composed under pressure.
The ones who know how to bounce back after mistakes because mistakes are part of both sport and life.

We also explored the collective nervous systems all around us:
The teams we serve. The organizations we’re part of. The families we go home to. And the communities we’re helping shape.

Co-regulation is happening all the time, the question is whether we’re contributing to it intentionally 🤔

We wrapped up with a live Sound Visualization experience, visualizing an Alter Ego version of ourselves showing up to grow, connect, partner, and make the most of our time together.

What a way to kick off a game changing summit, incredibly grateful to the team who made it possible and the attendees that showed up and leaned all the way in.
