Don’t you love a good bookish scavenger hunt? I do, so I was tickled that @myreading_road tagged me in this one. It’s even got its own hashtag: #scavengerroad26

Here’s what I came up with for the prompts:

🏏 Sport theme
🏏 Fun for the Whole Family (this is a stretch, but one of the characters is a pro soccer player)

🏊‍♂️ A verb in the title
🏊‍♀️ First Lie Wins

💙 A blue cover
💙 A Winter In New York

🐱 A MC who has a pet
🐱 Hello, Stranger

📚 A book in a series of 4 or more
📚 An Ember in the Ashes

🔍 On the cover: a mode of transport
🔍 One Day In December

Tagging some of you to give this a go…no pressure!

Does the book you’re reading fit any of these prompts?

Happy National Book Lovers Day! I’m celebrating with a #colorpalettestack! I haven’t yet read She’s Up To No Good, but hope to get to it soon.

How was your weekend? Friends invited us to their beach house — such a nice little getaway, and we learned to play rummikub — now we need our set! Also ate yummy food — French toast, lobster roll, crab cake — had a lot of laughs, and finished reading Mad Mabel.

The usual taggy stuff!

Thriller Thursday 💔

Thank you @minotaur_books for the #gifted ebook of Heart of Glass by @jenniferhillierbooks It was phenomenal!!

📌About the Book:
Years after the Carnival Killer has been put behind bars, Wonderland is preparing to reopen to the public. But when a documentary is being filmed about the Carnival Killer and his victims, old traumas are brought to the surface.

Told between the past and present, Heart of Glass follows Barb, Nicolette and Loralei through their trauma that night at Wonderland 25 years earlier- when they first met Sam, the Carnival Killer- and flashbacks to the night their best friend was killed. But the girls each have their own secrets from that night, secrets that could ruin each of them and the lives they’ve carefully curated for themselves.

💭My Thoughts:
Whoa this was twisty in the best way!! It was so fun to read with my buddies @bubblebathbookworm @mamas_top_shelf and @hookedon_booksncoffee
You will want to add this to your Spooky Season TBR.

⁉️How’s your week going? Are you into Summerween?

How do you know you’re a bookstagrammer? Here’s one clue: you have to buy a new bag when you’re traveling so that you can bring home all the books you’ve bought!

We just spent a week in England, and I was overwhelmed by all the book buying opportunities. Not only wonderful independent bookstores, but the charity shops!!! I purchased a grand total of 14 books. For those of you counting, you’ll notice there are only 11 in this photo…when I snapped it, I was *sure* I couldn’t possibly buy any more books. Well, I was wrong!

I tried to limit myself only to books that were already on my TBR list, but a few snuck through. Most by authors I know and love, like Katie Fforde, Lisa Jewell, and Jenny Bayliss. But one other snuck through — The Seven Imperfect Lives of Elvira Carr, which was giving me Eleanor Oliphant vibes.

I’ll share the other three books soon…and watch my feed, and my stories, for snaps of some of the wonderful bookshops I visited. I’ll also have to feature my new bag in a photo…

Aside from books, what’s something you find it hard to resist buying? For me, it is definitely bags!!!

Show me your new books!

Thriller Thursday👏🏼

I’m back with another thriller featuring badly behaved women… @may_cobb killed it with another book featuring badly behaved women. Not a single character in this book was likable and I Ate. It. Up.

Renee and Kathleen and I had the best time talking about this book and our theories. Buddy reads are the best.

I will say, this book is more salacious family drama than thriller. But I love a good family drama. If you like badly behaved characters, twisty manipulative mind games, and to continually guess again and again whodunnit, then grab this book!!

⁉️Have you seen Wuthering Heights? We just got back and my mind was blown. It’s so good. Go see it!!

Book recommendation | netflix | movies | Jacob Elordi | Margot Robbie | Wuthering Heights | drama

I’ll admit audio books never used to be my favorite, but in the last couple months they’ve been an absolute life saver!! I’m a mom, a small business owner, and truthfully always on the go.

When I won the AMAZING giveaway put on by @bubblebathbookworm @hookedon_booksncoffee @fashionably.bookish @read.with.callie and @hellothriftypages I immediately knew what I would be putting the gift card towards🙌🏼

Thank you ladies for filling my work days and late nights with all the stories I don’t have the time to sit and read📚Thank you for giving me some semblance of sanity in the chaos🫶🏼 Thank you for allowing me to purchase headphones I can hear over my sewing machine😂

Go and give these lovely ladies a follow to support💖

☕️ 𝕄𝕌𝔾 𝕄𝕆ℕ𝔻𝔸𝕐 ☕️

Very slow start for me this morning as I waited up to make sure our older son landed safely in Stockholm… Him being 3943 miles away (but who’s counting? 🤣) and 6 hours ahead of us is going to take some getting used to!

But now I have my usual strong hot tea in my mug and things are looking up. What’s in your mug this morning?

(Oh, and a small note on the book featured in my post today — this was my second Riley Sager and it’s made me wonder whether I should read any others. I loved The Only One Left, but this one I could barely finish. If I say why, it’s a big spoiler, so I won’t…but let me know if you’re a Riley Sager fan, and which one I should try next, especially if you liked The Only One Left but not this one…)

The usual taggy stuff!
