A present day 2026 homage piece that dates back to the essence of March 1986 skateboarding inspiration. Growing up, “style” influenced so much in my life. One could classify such an impression w/ two old school terms that stand & hold ground to this present day .. “it’s not what you do, but how you do it.” And “style is everything”.

But why? For the sakes & celebrations of individuality, personality, freedom of expression, lust in life. A few key reasons. 1986 was a pivotal year, transitioning from the shifts of the normality they called 1984. ‘Street style’ skateboarding had officially evolved into ‘street skating’ beginning a positive, dynamic revolution. Yet how one did what they did, dressed how they were, still made the overall difference when representing meaningful uniqueness. @oscarputdowntheknife is one of a kind. His style owned, his impact on the scene & culture self-made. Concepts a byproduct to the styles exhumed & actions depicted. Impacts that resonated with so many of us evolving through the eras.

This “Thrasher” magazine cover knock-off/homage piece was done in honor of those who are & those who love the ‘stylized’ spirit of living. Representing the continued traditions & history some 40 years later. This version of the classic cover done in a natural modern ‘stylized’ way. Coming rebellious out of another pivotal year we are a part of. @skater_made steered by the ship captain using his old aka “Soul Power” from back when. Navigating with @skater_made_jp into a new era of Rad-I-Cal change, evolution & direction. Thank you to all of those before us, riding with us & the ones that possess the natural fluidity that inspire the way forward, properly.
