A wonderful wrap to a 2024 that was full of new joys 🌸
Thank you to the support of @joanmitchellfdn and the opportunities from so many. It was a pleasure to share my work with you all and I look forward to crossing into the new year together and stronger.

Don’t miss the four art exhibitions on view at our York Street location!

🧵 “Tali Weinberg: The Space Between Threads” is on view through June 9.
🌊 “Process Makes Perfect: Printmakers Explore the Natural World” is on view through July 28.
🌳 “River’s Voice: Textiles by Alexandra Kehayoglou” is on view through Dec. 8.

The indoor exhibitions are in the Freyer - Newman Center galleries. All exhibitions are included with general admission.

Kara Maria’s latest print project with Shark’s Ink was recently released. The lithograph, “Under Simple Stars, (Great Basin silverspot butterfly),” includes an image of a female Great Basin silverspot butterfly. This butterfly is an endangered species whose populations are in decline in Colorado and across their entire range mainly due to habitat loss.

Shark's Ink will include this print in their booth at the upcoming @ifpda Print Fair at the Javits Center in New York from October 26-29.

In the past few weeks, I have been all over the place, so September flew by and October looks to be about the same. I did make it to the fairs at the start of the month, but by the end of that weekend, CCP had two exhibitions open in our own galleries and then in the days after, we installed another show at the New Canaan Library. I unexpectedly stumbled upon a local print collector here in Norwalk with a jaw-dropping collection of prints I otherwise only see at fairs and/or galleries through attending a Norwalk Chamber of Commerce event. I spent a rainy Saturday having a lovely brunch with the very dear Catalina Chervin while visiting from Argentina. The CCP cottage hosted two artists in residence who gave fascinating lunchtime talks - Phyllis McGibbon who teaches at Wellesley and Pei-Hsuan Wu the founder of Texture Printmaking Studio in Taiwan. I spent an evening in NYC at the National Arts Club listening to Lesley Dill give her talk for the Print Club of New York explaining more about this year’s commissioned presentation print. And then Lyell Castonguay and Carand were here from Maine last weekend holding BIG INK during which they printed large scale work by 18 artists in 2 days’ time. Tomorrow I will be in NYC at the Empire State Rare Book and Print Fair as a panelist talking about print collecting. In this time I was asked by someone how I can do all of this, how is that I am at everything? (Yes, Dorothy, I’m thinking of you!) At the time I didn’t think o was out and about so much, but looking back, hmmmm…maybe I am!?

Join the team of Shark’s Ink for an in-gallery conversation of Onward and Upward: Shark’s Ink. Bud and Barbara Shark, Evan Colbert, Roseanne Colachis will discuss the prints and processes in the Onward and Upward exhibition. Learn the stories behind the prints on our walls and catch the show before it closes.

After the tour, enjoy some light refreshments in the lobby.

“Exit Paradise” is up until April 30th 2023 at Seidel City @seidel_city. The regular gallery hours are 1 to 4 pm on Fridays and Saturdays (and I will be there during those times) and next Saturday April 15th from 2 to 4 we will have an artist talk with myself, Kristen Hatgi Sink and Mark Sink. You can also schedule private tours on the Seidel City website.

It is such an honor to be showing my collaborative work with photographer Luís Branco @lfilipebranco alongside the wondrous works of Kristen Hatgi Sink @kristenhatgisink and Mark Sink’s @marksink photographic gems. And it has been so great to put together “Exit Paradise” with the awesome Terry Seidel @terrysseidelstudio. Seidel City @seidel.city is such a cool place! And to be a part of Month of Photography @mopdenver, the multi-venue, biennial photography festival sponsored by the Colorado Photographic Arts Center @cpacphoto.
