Night shift 🌑

The Grand Seiko Night Birch is one of those watches that gets more interesting the longer you stare at it. Inspired by the birch forests at night, the textured dial constantly changes depending on the light, going from almost black to revealing all the little details hidden in it.

Underneath sits the Hi Beat 36000 movement, ticking away at 10 beats per second. You do not get the smooth Spring Drive sweep here, but there is something satisfying about knowing this thing is running at 36,000 vibrations an hour. Quiet on the outside, proper engineering underneath.

In full bloom 🌸

In Kobe for cherry blossom season and it felt right to bring the Grand Seiko Shunbun along. Seeing the dial in natural sunlight here just hits different, the soft pink tones finally matching the real thing around me.

One of those moments where the watch and the place just line up perfectly.

Some watches just need no introduction

When talking about timeless pieces, one watch always comes to mind, the Rolex Submariner. You can be deep into watches or just a regular guy rocking a Whoop band, and chances are you have heard of this one.

Since it’s a public holiday here in Melbourne, thought it would be a good time to talk about the Tag Aquaracer. When I think of a watch that can do a bit of everything, this one always comes to mind. Sporty, tough, and easy to wear whether you are out doing something active or just taking it easy on a day off.

One of those watches that just fits into whatever the day turns into.

Which Speedy is THE Speedy? 🌕⌚

I know, I know. The purists will say Hesalite, moon landing, end of discussion. Fair enough. But for me, what really makes the Speedmaster special is its history in space, not just on the moon.

That is why the First Omega in Space does it for me. Worn in orbit before the moon missions ever happened, quietly doing its thing without the hype. One guy went up there with it, proved it could handle space, and that was enough. Sometimes no means no and first really is first.

Sorry @ariel.ie lol.

Time flies, even when you don’t ✈️

There goes the first month of the year. Funny how much can change in just four weeks. Habits shift, routines fall apart, and some New Year resolutions quietly disappear. It also made me realise this Santos 100 had somehow slipped out of the rotation, so it felt right to give it some well deserved wrist time.

I am not big on planes and honestly flying still makes me nervous, but there is no denying how iconic the Santos is in aviation history. Clean lines, timeless design, and a reminder that some classics never really lose their place. Sometimes all it takes is circling back to appreciate them again.

Queue the theme song. Dun a dun a 🦈

Rocking the Seiko SRPL81K, the Jaws 50th anniversary piece. From the themed dial to the subtle movie nods, it is packed with details that hit if you grew up loving the film.

Playful, well executed, and still very wearable, which is what makes it work. A fun addition to the box and an easy pick for a relaxed long weekend.

Ground control to Major Tom, do you copy? 🚀🌑

Every time I look at the Dark Side of the Moon, that Space Oddity track starts playing in my head. Something about this watch just pulls you straight into that space race fantasy, even if it’s only from the couch.

It’s a special one in the collection. Full black ceramic, stealthy, serious, but also just a bit playful if you know the story behind it. I definitely don’t need a space themed chronograph in real life, but that’s never really been the point.

Boys will always be boys, and sometimes that just means wanting a watch that makes you feel like an astronaut for five minutes. #omega #watch #speedmaster
