Cardiff showed up for the first stop of our Out The Back tour!

We kicked off the weekend @patagoniacardiff for the first ever look at our new film with @stab, “Inflation Point” - the untold history of inflatable vests followed by a panel with Paige Alms (@paigealms), Ian Walsh (@ian.walsh) , Greg Long (@gerglong) , and Andrew Reinhart (@andrew__reinhart) , our product developer behind the PSI Vest since its inception. Having three leading forces of the big-wave world and our very own mad scientist talk story was an incredible look behind the scenes of the innovation of the vest saving lives.

Over the weekend, Greg offered a glimpse into BWRAG training through a breath work workshop, Paige got everyone moving with a pre-surf workout before sharing the tips and tricks of ding repair, and Paige and Ian dove deep into foil gear and its progression on Maui. Our Wetsuit Forge technicians fixed over 60 suits in two days, keeping wetsuits in the lineup and out of the landfill.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported, it was incredible to be there.

On our most recent repair tour, Buddy, Hector and other talented repair techs brought 322 wetsuits back to life, diverting more than 1,000 pounds of rubber from the landfill, which means less waste and more surf. Win-win.
“The road is where we are most impactful—with the people, interacting in different surf communities, sharing the stoke and keeping wetsuits out of the landfill,” Buddy says. “These tours look behind the curtain of who we are and what we do, and the values we stand behind at @patagonia_surf.”

We’re heading back to the @patagonia_haleiwa lanai December 3rd and 4th before the @eddieaikau Big Wave Invitation Opening Ceremony on the 5th to service our PSI vests that the esteemed world of big wave surfers use for the Hawaiian winter season.
Maintaining the vests is of utmost importance to us, and services include bladder replacements, wetsuit modifications to accommodate the PSI vest, and more. We’ll be back to finish things up on the Saturday the 6th, so if you plan on getting your PSI vest worked on, please try to get the vests to us in the first two days.

The Wetsuit Forge crew kicked off the fall season with 130 wetsuits repaired across three East Coast stops, getting the suits ready for the cooling temps and swells with the change of the season.
Huge thanks to our partners @cinnamonrainbows1983, @patagoniaboston, and @islandsurfandsport for hosting us—and to the amazing East Coast surf community for showing up. We loved seeing you out there.

On the final day of our wetsuit repair stop in Chicago, a late season north wind swell sparked a window of fresh water waves on Lake Michigans south shore. The local surf community rallied the #wetsuitforge crew and they geared up in R5 suits, 5mil boots and gloves, and boards shaped by local Great Lakes shapers. Paddling out into the fresh water waves, the water temps were low but the stoke was high. What a way to cap off our first visit to such a vibrant, unique surf community. We look forward to coming back.

Earlier this month, our #WetsuitForge team hosted a wetsuit repair weekend at the @patagoniachicago store in Fulton Market. We focused on keeping wetsuits in the lineup and out of landfills, supporting the vibrant Great Lakes surf community.
Over two days, we repaired 30 suits and held a Friday night presentation with @chicago_surfrider, @greenhousesurf, and @fivelakessurfclub. Adam, featured in the 8th photo, brought in a damaged suit that had been sitting unused. Now, his 16-year-old son is ready to ride it. Orry, in the 9th photo, presented a dry suit that posed a challenge. He even drove an hour to obtain the necessary gaskets for the repair.

We’re kicking off this summer doing wetsuit repairs at San Diego’s surf culture megadome, @birdssurfshed, Saturday June 29th from 11am-5pm.
Afterwards, Bird’s will be screening @peraltastacy’s film “The Yin & Yang of Gerry Lopez” in the evening.
As always, one suit per customer and wetsuits need to be dry and clean to be repaired, wet and sandy wetsuits will be shown the door!

From East Coast to West Coast, over five stops - NH, NY, SF, Dana Point, and Cardiff our crew repaired 322 wetsuits bringing them back to life and avoiding the landfill for some extended time in the line up. Those 322 wetsuits at an average weight of 4lbs a suit lands 1,288lbs of rubber diverted from the trash.

A huge congrats to our #WetsuitForge crew who hustled hard over the 6 weekends to offer this to the community and a mega thank you to our partners who hosted us @cinnamonrainbows1983, @rippers86, @prooflab, @hobiesurfshop, @patagoniacardiff

We’re still frothing over how good last months wetsuit repair event was. Thank you to @patagonia_surf and the whole wetsuit crew for all the great repairs that went down that weekend. Hopefully everyone who had a suit repaired is enjoying staying warm out there as these water temps drop 🥶🌊
