It’s a new adventure every day at Barrington! Today we had a special visitor who brought along lots of tiny friends for us to meet. From creepy crawlies to fascinating little creatures, our students had so much fun learning, exploring, and asking questions. Some of us were even brave enough to hold a few of his tiny friends! 🕷️🪱🦀

I held a pink toed tarantula today. Apparently, @bugman_education moonlights as a hypnotist because he magically convinced me to let him place a spider in my palm. It was surprisingly soft, though watching the absolute terror on everyone else's faces was the real highlight of the day! I did capture a moment for a lady as she overcame a fear and that was awesome!

If you missed @green_columbus Earth Fest at Scioto Audubon, you missed a great event! Mark your calendar for next year. There were actually plant based food trucks represented at an Earth Day event! Enjoyed a @portiascafe wrap for lunch! The live music was cool and the School of Rock kids honestly put most adults to shame! They sang some great classics!

The vendors were spot on with no fillers. I grabbed some peonies from @lovebugflorals (shoutout to @sunnymeadowsflowerfarm) and a bookmark from @iamaghost.studio I also bought a book from @naturalhorsepower who hiked an absurd amount of miles in 2021, which should make for some light and inspirational reading!

I snagged some prints, did some networking, and chatted with the @columbusarborfest crew. August can’t come soon enough for that festival! It was refreshing to see a focus on trail safety, bike advocacy, soil health, and native plants. Columbus does Earth Day proper!

And obviously, I petted every single dog in attendance 😂 between adventuring with friends and finishing my own yard work, I clocked 22k steps...just over 8 miles. Wish I could rewind time back to Friday...
