CA102/ My first staged picture in California … and one of my top favorites: the composition, the warm light, the insane truck and Tarantino’s movie Theater.

I had noticed that unique tough, mean and fantastic looking pick-up truck down my street. I could not let this opportunity pass so I went to introduce myself to its owner Tedd. He had restored and designed his 1952 Chevy truck himself. Very kindly he agreed to a photoshoot … all I had to do was to find a proper background, the most suitable location.

And it could only be The New Beverly, one of the most iconic movie theatre in LA, now owned by none other than Quentin Tarantino.

Committed to celluloid, Quentin made the unique decision to have the New Beverly solely project film prints. And many of the 35mm and 16mm prints shown are from Quentin’s private collection. The New Beverly offers the old fashioned movie experience with a double movie billing, a long queue (you can not book your seats online), vintage ads and cartoons. And of course, the best classic movies !

And that week, it was one of my favorite movies “From Dusk to Dawn”, written in by Tarantino and directed by Roberto Rodriguez in 1996. The vampires could have driven that truck !

Clubhouse! I thought The Stadium Tour with Poison, Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Joan Jett would be the most epic line up to see for me personally. But now I have @adamantofficial @duranduran @garynuman and @dreamcarmusic on the same bill! Now I just pray none of them overlap on different stages. Last year Adam and Gary were overlapping. But then Adam had to cancel and I got to see Gary twice due to the lightning.
