We’ve partnered with @crosstowntrail for a Walktober Challenge! This month explore four easy-to-manage sections of the Loop, each just 1–2 miles and filled with monumental art along the way. This week: Golden Gate Park - a 2-mile walk featuring seven Big Art Loop artworks, plus more installations on The Golden Mile at JFK Promenade. Get outside, get walking, and discover the Big Art Loop one bite-sized adventure at a time. Don’t forget to tag us in your discoveries! 📷: @iromo_ We’ve partnered with @crosstowntrail for a Walktober Challenge! Axis Mundi is now up in San Francisco as part of the @bigartloop . Located at the center of Alamo Square Park, we are honored to bring one our biggest works to the heart of the city, the same city in which we established our practice 12 years ago. Public art initiatives like this are wonderful as they equally serve the local community, while supporting and inspiring artists directly. As we were installing, people repeatedly asked “What is this for?” our response... “It’s for you!” Special thanks to all involved: @sijbrandijfoundation for funding the Big Art Loop @building180 and their incredible production team @sf_arts_commission for supporting the artwork @sfrecpark for offering us the most striking location. @sfgov for welcoming us @danielluriesf for seeing that art is a key component to the cities future. The lights will be on from dusk to dawn, and the artwork can be enjoyed for the next 12 months. Axis Mundi is 17ft tall and composed of 5 truncated octahedrons, one of the 5 polyhedra that can tile 3d space without leaving any gaps. It continues our study into showcasing geometric concepts and pattern-making through monumental sculpture and lighting. Last photo by @goweststudio

🐟 Last chance to see Steelhead by @bryantedrickart on Big Art Loop! The sculpture has been sold (yay 🎉) and will be deinstalled next week; heading to its new home at @kennethcarlestate in Healdsburg, California. We love seeing public art find new audiences, new homes, and bring new opportunities for artists to create. Take some time this weekend to explore the Loop and give Steelhead a proper send off!
