📍 Kansas City, KS 🚧 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE | 601 Minnesota 🏗️ The transformation of 601 Minnesota continues to take shape in downtown Kansas City, Kansas! Recent progress includes removing the building's 1968 exterior façade, revealing more of the original brickwork and architectural detailing of this historic 1926 landmark. These latest photos highlight the building's distinctive character as restoration efforts continue. Originally home to Commercial National Bank, the seven-story structure is undergoing a remarkable transformation. SWD Architects is leading the restoration design for developer Build WyCo, helping preserve the building's historic identity while exploring opportunities for a new mixed-use future. Year 5 Monologue; “Lawd, give this Black Shepard, PEACE!” PEACE We pray for this daily as we work towards our excellence in serving people hella good coffee! This month makes 5 years of service! 5 years of intentional work! 5 years of being stoic, carrying integrity and cutting our teeth on coffee! Thank You for the continued support and love you have shared with us over these years! Both KCK and Independence have been such incredible places for us to start, learn and share our coffee with! Sure this year has been hard as a business and hard personally for me as the owner BUT I still love what we do! There’s nothing short of gratitude for the support and love we have received this year! A lot of times it was just at the right moment when we needed that act of kindness or a generous compliment. We are super thankful we get to serve such amazing customers everyday and we can’t wait to do this another 5 years, wherever it takes us! This monologue is raw and real but it’s our truth and it’s something we take pride in sharing transparently that this path is not for the weak! We hope you enjoy some great moments from last year! NEW CLASS: Family Pottery Wheel 🪴There’s still time to sign up for October’s class, which starts this Sunday afternoon! Families (ages 10+) can sign up to learn the class together — each person will use their own wheel and make their own projects. One registration per person - sign up on our website! Six leaders. Six labels. One morning we won’t forget. These are the bottles we made for the @kauffmanfoundation Visionary Leaders celebration. Each honoree got their own custom label with their portrait on the front, finished with caps in Kauffman blue. 1,200 cold-pressed bottles in all. Swipe through to see every design, plus a look at the setup before the doors opened. Congratulations to Tysie McDowell, this year’s Visionary Leader Award winner 🏆, and to all six finalists doing the work in corners of this city most never see.
