The next chapter, hope it's a really good one Maggie-Mike. This was a hell of an @anoldcar, it's been around us for a couple of years now Never look at Hyundai's quite the same again after you've driven an Accent Si coupe 200 miles on the A1. #festivaloftheunexceptional #hyundai #koreancar #grass #white

Great day at FOTU with @gaz_robinson1979 and his lovely blue Honda Insight, we're not talking about the other one although in some ways this was the FOTU where hybrids were on duty, separate post perhaps...😁 @anoldcar stickers were in double figures Weird Father Ted Rover 213 stuff happening over by the #fotu sign but we managed not to get drawn in too much to the shenanigans. Rav4 GIANT giving 90s concept lifestyle vibes (Jack Galley-Facebook) Insight getting quite a lot of attention. What a day, and I must remember no lighter = no brew. Outstanding once again. Oh yeah @joncoupland the arrival video is the gift that keeps on giving, make sure to give it a like and a subscribe on the YouTube channel. Jon, thank you once again. @nick.glossop be there next time #toyota #honda #insight #rav4 #hybrid #grass #bluecar #redcar #giant #red #blue #japan #anoldcar #comforser #festivaloftheunexceptional #practicalclassics

Les the Ford Escort Mk5b Ghia Si ESTATE is in Pickering and live to view now on Matthewsons website. "A nice level thing, quite quirky and (definitely) worth saving." @anoldcar The Si has a chip key immobiliser which is still fully functional and very rare on an early 90s Ford. Also has had a brand new fast clear (de-frost) windscreen fitted, a new radiator, timing belt and water pump, brand new rear bumper, replacement bootlid and brand new tyres on the fronts after the alignment was corrected, rears will need replacing. The central locking works. The electric windows are the smoothest I've ever seen. The manual glass sunroof opens closes and tilts fully and remains water tight. The Jigsaw velour upholstery is unmarked save a tiny spot on the drivers seat and bolster. The front seats are the original Recaro design wing back sports seats, and are well comfy. The front bumper lights arrangement as shared with XR3 and RS 2000 is all good and working correctly, the side lights are replacements, again quite tricky to find these days MOT'd and pretty much ready to drive and if you want to restore all the hardest to find bits you'd need are in the car, new rear arches-panels to weld straight in, replacement locks and a kit to enable you to match the lock to the existing keys, for the boot, a complete boot wiring loom is present, which will restore the electrics to the boot, including the factory alarm, plus brand new boot closure contacts, which are nearly impossible to find, even the correct Ford Radio Cassette and handbook with CODE. Would benefit from the headlining recovering, doesn't sag but the fabric has been removed from the backing in the boot area and rear. Nice low starting price. Auction date 1st Aug '25 Get up to Pickering in N. Yorks and have a closer 👀

Not Maggie-Mike! ANOTHER stunning white Hyundai Accent 1.3 Coupé Si at #festivaloftheunexceptional #fotu24 These little cars are fitted with Hyundai's first ever in-house designed/built engine. No it isn't a Mitsubishi unit or the one in the Proton unless Hyundai's engines were supplied to Proton? Designated the Alpha, it is a reliable single overhead cam 12 valve unit, which I have learned (here at FOTU) were capable of completing very high mileages, one former owner had an Accent for his first car and covered over 220,000 miles in it! This lovely, clean example has only covered around 41,000miles from it's first registration in March 1999, however 10,000 of those miles were completed in the last 12 months. Appears to have been put back into daily use, which is fantastic, here's to the next 180,000 miles. Please get in touch if this is your car, or you know the lucky owner, we can compare notes.
