POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This year at Wake'n'bake I was gifted some Jumbler items that made me feel like I've now been officially accepted as one of the family. Even though last time I went in '17 I could feel the love, it wasn't until this year that it really hit home as these items were gifted to me over the course of the weekend.

Hence forth, I'd like to share my story of how I became a @lessthanjake Jumbler~

When I was in 8th grade in '97, my friend @worleybirdpictures introduced me to punk, ska, and hardcore. I can remember my first exposure was him playing Operation Ivy, Suicide Machines, Catch 22, Squirtgun, Fugazi, Living Sacrifice, Squad 5-0, Five Iron Frenzy, Mad Caddies, Snapcase, and Strung Out.

Soon after I got some cd's from Columbia House, with the classic mail-order deal of like 13 for 1 cent. That's how I obtained my first Less Than Jake album, Losing Streak. What more can I say? I used to listen to it like nobody's business. I lived and breathed those songs and it was the greatest thing I'd ever heard. If you asked me to take one album with me to a deserted island, that would be it.

What I remember most is reading the booklet and seeing that the drummer wrote the lyrics. For some reason that blew my mind. It was like, these guys are singing these songs & the words feel like they are more than just lyrics, they're an anthem!

I started collecting everything I could find, and became a super fan. I even joined the PEZ Corps & made a music video with the help of Bill; me acting goofy & playing the footage backwards to the song, "Just Like Frank". They were the reason I went to my first Warped Tour & I saw them play more times than any other band when I was young. So many records, cd's, and random merch...

Then as I grew older, I started getting into other bands and eventually fell out of sync. It wasn't until I started DLL Customs in '14 and crossed paths with @wunderlandwar that I fell back in.

Fast forward a few years and I found myself at W'nB '17 making resin for the shows & back in step with the music, surrounded by people who loved them as I once did. Now in '26 I find myself here again, thanks to the love of this wonderful family known as the Jumblers...🙏❤🤘

@slamdunkmusic North:

Work up at 5am to get the bus up to Leeds, saw some cute piggies on the way into the festival, and then saw all the same bands again. Another 7ish hours on the barrier and don't regret a thing!

All of the bands were even better than they were the day before (getting over the jet-lag, maybe?) and the sound was much better than in Hatfield. There was so much crowd interaction from almost every band playing, which is honestly what I think makes a show so special.

Got given a setlist just because I was wearing a cool band shirt 😎 (thanks @james.pendle 😊) and I managed to catch Atom from Alk3's broken drumstick. Always love a gig souvenir or two.

Spent the day with some of my best friends, and then just when I was sad about saying goodbye, I bumped into @menzingers89 . Ended the night drinking wine and pot noodles with her and @doublecoffeemilknosugar after she snuck into our hotel room 😅. Perfect ending to a perfect day of a perfect weekend 🥰

Show number 159 apparently. The best part of this weekend was getting to spend time with some of my favourite people in the world, some of whom I haven't seen in absolute ages! The shows were pretty damn awesome too!! Thank you @gavfrontrow for capturing us in our happy place ☺️

What an amazing weekend with friends at the return of @lessthanjake Wake & Bake! It's been 8 1/2 years since I'd been in Gainesville, and it was great to be back. I couldn't have asked for a better time! Got to hang out with great people, some I haven't seen in years, some I only knew from the interwebz, and made new friends as well. Can't wait to head back next year and to all rage during the DJ Dunstan Wallace set!
P.S. Some stolen valor in the final photo courtesy of @dregec & @jorgeluislucero. Much appreciated! Apologies in advance for any missing tags in the first photo.

Big thanks to @lessthanjake for providing the entertainment in between pub time and bringing together this random bunch. Lots of love for @handsome_harmon1988 @lampy_nikki @jimmyxnguyen too for everything you do 🧡🧡
