This is the first competition run for my new singles programme. I was skating to the most amazing song by @takethat it has such a dramatic energy and I really like the lyrics and meaning of the song…for me it’s about moving forward into something new, not forgetting what’s gone, but being on the edge of something better and trying to focus on what’s still to come. There are so many harder parts to this programme versus my last programme…a catch foot spiral…a twizzle (it’s a twizzle at speed…honestly gives me anxiety and keeps me up at night)…a drag / knee slide, change of edge and a little stag jump / leap…all things I was nowhere near ready to try in my last programme…and I absolutely love it. Two of my jumps didn’t get called, but I still scored 14.1 which was soooo close to a new PB so I was really happy with that…I think I can keep improving this programme and I’m soooo excited to see where it’s at in a year from now…in the words of the world’s most iconic boy band I just need to have a little patience 🖤⛸️ & thanks so much @bumpnbling for making me this outfit 💎 #figureskating #takethat #figureskatinglife #competition #patience

Here is the full, totally unedited video of my new singles programme skating to patience by the amazing @takethat 🖤 a very northern band for a northern boy 🫶🏻 This is the the first competitive performance of my new singles programme. It didn’t go perfectly, some bits I was really happy with and other bits I was a bit disappointed with, but overall it was a decent score of 14.03 and it was almost a personal best score. I’ve recently shared a little series of 6 videos breaking down all of the significant parts of this performance in detail and sharing some inside info and skating secrets…so pls go check those out if you are interested to know more about what’s involved in doing a competition and what it’s like for skaters. I’m gonna go away now and keep working hard in training and hopefully make this programme stronger for the next competition I do 🖤 big thanks to my coach (Vicky Mayne) for everything you do to help me with my skating and for the amazing choreography and thank you also @bumpnbling for making my outfit in super quick time…I love it 🙏🏻 also thanks @iceskatingmia for putting me on the ice on the day it was such a fun day 🙏🏻 #iceskating #competition #adultskater #figureskatinglife

It takes a village. And, upon reflection, I owe 3 in particular a lot for these last 2 weeks.

First, @thebootandblade because when I ordered my new skates back in July, no one thought they’d take 6 weeks to come. Bradley, thank you for putting up with the repeated visits, panic to get the skates as ready for competition as possible and coming up with the unorthodox solution when nothing else was working on the right boot. Customer service was 10/10, I’ve never known a skate tech to be so understanding.

To @bumpnbling because not only is my dress amazing and still holding all its gems after 6 months and 3 outings, you also gifted me a tonne of goodies right before the comp including this snazzy ambassador tshirt (even though I’m not one really). Comp practice ice is always chaotic, and thanks to you I looked and felt amazing.

Finally, @ge0rgiaeb0ny. My ride or die in all of this. Our sanity and big toenails may be clinging on for dear life, but I can absolutely trust that you’re gonna be honest and there.

⛸️ Inclusive para games day 2 ⛸️

Free skate day!!!! This is always my most stressful day of competition since i struggle with jumps😂. I tried to channel @amberglenniceskater in my belive and breathe T-shirt to get the positive energy going!!!

I had a really bad fall on practice ice which meant that I was a little shaky before I skated. Luckily I managed to get through my program without another fall which is all I wanted🩷

Since I've managed to lose my pride flag I had to borrow @frilly_dinosaur s one for photos, thanks for letting me borrow it!!!!

Overall, im happy with how I skated considering the practice ice fall really shook me😂
