One of the most incredible experiences of our time in #darwin #larrakiacountry was attending the #nima #nationalindigenousmusicawards and the performance by @ngulmiya and the #redflagdancers - I waited to post this sequence of images until I received the permission from @ngulmiya which he has given. The whole performance was incredibly special, The entrance of the dancers, which I previously posted, was immediately captivating. The colour, dynamic movement, incredible music and the inclusion of dancers of all ages including this young boy, was impossible to look away from. This was a moment of deep@connection between the dancers and the audience and it was a privilege to be present and to have photographed this moment.

Having a show on @bayfm99.9 each week continues to open up unexpected opportunities that I treasure. Yesterday was a perfect example when I got to chat to Deline Briscoe from @briscoesisters who are on tour and heading to Bundjalung country to play @eurekahall2480 on Saturday September 19th. Deline told a story of connection to country, connection of song and nature that really moved me. We spoke about the sisters musical origins and influences as well as those up and coming voices to listen out for and the importance of live music and the gatherings it brings together. Go through the slides ➡️ to hear snippets. Tickets for the Eureka show are through @peacerunrecords and @andreakirwin will be opening on the 19th. The entire chat can of course be listened back to. There is a link in my bio. The 2 hour playlist is filled with predominantly First Nations voices from this continent including @emmadonovan_music @moju_music Ruby Hunter @bumpymusic_ @spinifex_gum and Marliya choir @uglemegan with a little dose of @allisonrussellmusic + @rhiannongiddens Musical Medicine. All of it 🖤💛❤️
