🎂Happy 2nd birthday to Hendrie!🎁🎈🎊

Hendrie and Hetha like to join Bennington in his dayroom on sunny days so we celebrated Hendrie's 2nd birthday there!

A big thank you to @custardthegiantbunny for the amazing willow rings from @highdesertfeed , a company new to us whose products we're eager to explore!

(We "officially" celebrated Hendrie's Birthday on International Rabbit Day but had to give a nod, at least, to the real day!)

Could not count ourselves more blessed than to have Hendrie here with us!💝💝🎀

Happy Friday!🐰🎉

And thank you @pendervet for rabbit care-- and your great Insta content (utilized here)! Lionhead 🦊Foxy trusts Dr Fedderly at @pendervet for her more involved dental care & wants to share a few vet tips with you:

🐇It's not easy choosing a vet🩺for your bunny--

✅️Keep your standards high--
✅️Understand there are ebbs & flow in your veterinary needs & ties over time.

⚜️Ideally your exotics vet is not far ftom home, and has both regular appoitments PLUS 24-hr emergency options. Maybe you will need to use services from more than one vet-

✅️Have a 24-hr emergency vet lined up BEFORE there's an emergency;
✅️Notice vet techs' rabbit handling skills-- that tells you they treat rabbits regularly!
✅️Choose vets involved in their communities- then everybody thrives!

We use 2 exotics vets: a local, loving, vet with regular office hours and a more distant full-scale vet hospital serving dogs and cats as well as exotics, for more involved care.

What are your vet arrangements? How are they working for you? Please share below!

Foxy bobs & thanks both @tailsnscalesvet & @pendervet for keeping her healthy & happy❤️🙏

Happy Monday!🌻

Mondays aren't so bad as a rescued sanctuary bunny-- you're still cage-free & imbibing the fun of freedom!

Beware the #instacute ! Did the breeder overdo it?-- That recessed jaw, the prominent loppy ears-- they make it harder to see & pick things up!

✨️Appetite Restore is now available in the UK through @rabbitcare.uk , importer of @sherwood.pet.health products in the UK!🥳

🐰🌸🐰🌸

We first experienced the near-miraculous effect Appetite Restore can have in a flagging bunny in 2020: our lively velveteen lop Bunjamin⚡️Franklin-- always a busy bee🐝bunny-- appeared low in energy, dejected. He did not yet have signs of stasis, but I was growing concerned. So we tried the Appetite Restore, part of the Sherwood Recovery Kit I had ordered sometime earlier.

🐰Appetite Restore has a bunny-pleasing flavor so Bunji soon tried his new "water" -- and in less than 5 minutes he was back to his usual bouncy, high-energy self, racing in the upstairs hallway!🐇

✅️Yes, it is true: dehydration/electrolyte imbalance can precipitate stasis and cause a bunny to go off feed! Address the electrolyte imbalance and you may avoid stasis all together, as we believe we have done many times since with additional rabbits.

💫@rabbitcare.uk provides specialized private sanctuary care to a number of rabbits-- through these special needs bunnies they have well-learned the high value of @sherwood.pet.health products for all bunnies.

@rabbitcare.uk is located on beautiful premises in Southern England. In support of the private sanctuary, they also offer limited boarding and professional grooming/nail clipping services. You can also purchase tasty Cottontail Bites from them!

Bennington's Special Talent is To "Make Love Out of Nothing at All!" So it is with awe & gratitude that we celebrate his 5th Gotcha Day!💝🥳

💙Bennie came to us 5 yrs ago to console bunny widow Peaches (and us!) after the loss of 🌈Bunjamin⚡️Franklin.

Bennington proved himself a Heart & Soul Healer without parallel, giving love effortlessly, lavishly.

For many years he ruled The Upstairs as Master Bed Bunny, whose view from the bed granted great advantage.

Surrendered by a 4H Breeder in Northern Maryland, his back was gummed up with pine sap from the tree🌲 under which he was housed; he sustained minor follicle damage around his hips from that neglect.

🌟Restored to health by @hopalonghollow rescue in Connecticut, Bennie returned to Maryland, joyously and with light heart to court charming Sweet Peaches, wedding her one fine Thanksgiving🦃Day.

Now nearly 9, with cataracts obscuring his vision, and arthritis slowing his hop, Bennington remains 👑King of Love, of Random Licks & Kisses of Unfathomable Kindness.

🐇Allergic to oats, Bennington celebrated his Gotcha Day Saturday at our International Rabbit Day Bunny Birthday Bash, savoring special alfalfa-pelket-based 5th Gotcha Day treats from @kodathelitttlebunny, and later, gifts from @quincybunny_0201-- tasty Nana Berry Timothy hay bites from @wellkeptrabbit, as well as one of their Hay & Fruit Tosses.

With 6 days left before International Rabbit Day and Bennington's🎈6th Gotcha Day Bash🎉, Bennie nuzzled up to beloved Ayieta, Ayline & Cam at @wefluffu for his special Party Prep Groom!

🐇Bennie has so much hair which mats the more he reclines about in Golden Years💛💛💛

🤔Did you know that, on average, dogs have 7-10 strands of Fur per Pore, Cats 10-20 & RABBITS A WHOPPING 20-50 Strands per Pore-- there is a reason rabbit owners are obsessed with vacuums & air filters and why Rabbit Grooming costs $$$!)

🐰💙We think Bennington is about 9.5 years old. He has arthritis and receives metacam and cold laser therapy; regular grooming with our Certified Rabbit Groomer is a big part of keeping him healthy & happy in these Golden Years.

Young Hendrie hasn't quite got the "sharing" part of #sharingiscaring . . . but our Purate Queen Hetha is ever-resourceful!

Hoppy Wednesday!

Are you ready for International Rabbit Day-- the last Saturday of September?

There are so many ways to celebrate!

Send your favorite Insta- bunny account a love note!

Better yet, Honor one of the small businesses that serves your bunnies or those of your bunny friends.

For our part, we want to celebrate our beloved #professionalrabbitgroomer @wefluffu -- we could not best care for our bunnies without their invaluable wisdom, love, guidance and service!💝🐰💝🐰💝🐰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
