What began as a conversation born out of seething rage and heartbreak over the state of our homelands and people became the Levantine Lane Pop-Up Bazaar/Market. We never expected to pull this off on such short notice, yet everything unfolded in complete synchronicity.

Our biggest goal and intention was to show that we are all united and interconnected, no matter who you are. I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally; our vendors, participants, service providers, donors, and volunteers, so I will say it here….Our dearest heartfelt thank you.

You have inspired us to continue building and cultivating community, despite the road blocks along the way. I hope these funds can offer even the slightest glimmer of hope from afar. May the Levant be freed from all who seeks to consume it with darkness, division, and supremacy. Continue to follow @shantellejammaz and I for transparency and distribution of funds. We love you

We’ve reached $13,000 raised together. We can’t thank you enough. Being in community with ppl like you, ppl who move with compassion and a desire to demand more from this place, reminds us how powerful this work can be.

As I get these initiatives going, I’ll be as transparent as I can be. @yaladdine + @kayforhumanity and @_assmaa will be coordinating with me and their connections on the ground in each area. This may take a couple of weeks to complete, so pls bear with us. 🤍 I focus on those on the ground to lead the way - we’re here to support the work they’re already doing. The ppl lead their own liberation, we simply use our privilege to lend a hand where and when we can.

We are deeply grateful for every single one of you who shared, contributed + held space for this effort. You’re part of something bigger just by being you, and we feel so lucky to do this work alongside you.

Idk how to properly thank this community + everyone who showed up in the spirit of care, resistance and solidarity. Silence in the face of oppression is complicity, so I hope to keep creating spaces like this, to keep being loud about our belief that collective care can cross borders even when politics and our system deny it.

It was just a market, but everyone who showed up was, in their own way, affirming another’s dignity and resisting oppression in all its forms. We did this as acknowledged guests, here on stolen land. And that was the entire intent.
