ā€œTitanoā€ acrylic on wall, San Marino 2026

ā€˜Del giuoco il numero eĢ€ spesso sovrano
Non badi alla faccia che porti alla mano
Se alzi lo sguardo ti svelo l’arcano
S’ infrange tra il cielo e il monte titano’

For the mural atop Monte Titano, in the Republic of San Marino, I chose the tarot cards of The Tower and The Moon to symbolically tell the story of the Titans’ fall and evoke the mountain’s own titanic etymology. The Tower represents the instant of celestial punishment: the lightning bolt that strikes down pride and marks the collapse of the rebellious forces that dared challenge the sky. It’s the image of a sudden, violent downfall. The Moon, on the other hand, evokes the primordial world the Titans came from: ancient, telluric, and dark forces, bound to the earth and to primal chaos. Together, the two cards trace a passage from chaos to ruin: archaic powers emerge from the night only to be struck down by the sky, leaving their memory etched into the rock of Monte Titano.

A very special thanks to @davidepagliardini @davidefarabegoli @miridelfi @federicaoronti and all the amazing @buonenove team
