Hey yall! My name is Burabari, it means “God’s will” in Gokana. I’m from the Ogoni tribe, located in Rivers state. I’m a senior from Kansas City, but my family now lives in Houston. I’m studying Health Promotion and Disease Prevention w/ a minor in Health Care Studies. I love being Nigerian because of our very vibrant culture- there’s such amazing and diverse food, music, language and so much more!

Honestly W friends🥹.
Thank you so much for being true sisters in Christ that I can always turn to 🩷. You guys have made my college experience so memorable and I am so grateful that I have you all in my life!!!

I literally mentioned that I wanted to take pictures but y'all were like "Nah... WE are taking pictures" 😂. And y'all did not come to play! Outfit changes, location changes, props (dragging my cart through campus 😅)… it was a whole production fr. Thank you guys! ILY 4EVA!!!😘

Meet: Burabari Yorka, President

Heyyy yall! My name is Burabari, and I’m from the Ogoni tribe. I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO (not Kansas!) but my family now lives in Houston. (If this sounds familiar, it’s because Barivure is my twin sister)! I’m a third year student studying Health Promotion and Disease Prevention with a minor in Health Care Studies. My favorite Nigerian dish is either rice with stew and fried ripeeee plantain or pepper soup. My favorite afrobeats song is either “Peace of Mind” by Adaorah or “Spell” by Fireboy DML. As yall can tell, I have a very hard time choosing favorites haha, but there’s toooo much to love about our culture! This is only the second year of NSA here at USC, so I’m looking forward to building on the amazing growth we had last year and creating a more tight-knit community of Nigerians on campus! I look forward to meeting everyone 🫶🏾
