A whopping 10 years ago (I know, I must have been like 18 right?), @sonya.angus became my first small business client 💛 This month she’s following her heart back to the capital and I’m going to miss having this one-in-a-million human within arms reach 😭 We were friends first after meeting by chance then I was her sounding board before she bravely opened the most beautiful boutique in a brand new city. At the same time, I became her trusted second brain, getting her iconic natural sparkle across in writing - so her marketing drew people in the same way she did ✨ She backed me right back 💪🏻 Getting my first small business client helped me move from freelance journalism into what I do now (helping gorgeous women in business get their story across while sounding human in an increasingly AI world 👀). When we met, Sonya’s kids were at primary school and I was young, free and not quite single. Now she’s picking up cool lingo from her lovely adult kids and I’m juggling the school run 🤣 (Plus her keeping me company when the twins broke my waters far too early is something I’ll never forget 🫶🏻🥹). I know I’m always banging on about it but I often still can’t believe my job lets me work with friends who become clients, and clients who become friends. The best! 🙌🏻 📸: @burfly capturing wedding cuddles 🤍

⭐️ Review ⭐️ “We had Mark DJ our wedding in August this year and he was incredible! Played all our requested songs and made sure the vibes were up all night. I planned a surprise voice message from my Son to play to his Dad before I walked down the aisle and Mark ensured this went smoothly and was kept a surprise from everyone. My man of honour also contacted Mark and asked him to play something at the end of his speech that I had no idea about but Mark done this with no issues at all! He is just an all round great guy and was professional and approachable, nothing was too big an ask. To top it off, the next day we had our first dance & last song filmed in full sent to us along with our audio guestbook! We could not recommend Mark enough!” Sarah & Dylan 📸 @burfly 💒 @pratisbarns

A MESSAGE ABOUT PAINT DIDN’T WORK… BUT A SWIPE RIGHT DID! 😂🤍 Marrying Susan and Stevie at @kinclunehouse gave me a love story packed with laughter, a few near misses and a first date at McDonald’s in Arbroath. Pure class! 😂🍟 These two had known of each other since their teens, but it took Tinder in October 2022 to finally get things moving. Susan had already tried her luck with a message about paint, only to discover it was Stevie’s twin brother who was looking for some. So close, Susan. So close! 🤣 Thankfully, a swipe right did the trick. From those first chats to missing each other while Susan worked in Malaysia, they soon realised they’d found something special. Then came a return trip to their much loved Loch Katrine, where Stevie had secretly planned a proposal. Cue a ring hidden in a backpack, a nervous bike ride and beers opened with stones because they’d forgotten the bottle opener! But he got down on one knee, and Susan gave him a great big YES! 💍 And here we were at Kinclune House, celebrating the next chapter. An extra special connection? Stevie actually made the venue’s bar! A very talented joiner indeed. Susan’s the brilliant baker, and together they love heading off on adventures in their brand new campervan 🚐🤍 I loved sharing a story with so much humour and heart. That’s the joy of a personal humanist wedding ceremony: celebrating the people you are and the wonderfully individual journey that brought you here. Much love, Fiona @fionamckenziecelebrant 🤍 📸 images by the awesome @burfly Helping make their day special: ✨ Venue: Kinclune House 🎶 Pipes and saxophone: @rgmusicom 🎹 Pianist: @gareth.gblack 🌸 Catering, flowers and more: @platter_and_pop Planning your own wedding in Scotland?
