@burnandbroad , the New York City based creative studio, designed The World Cup in the World’s Subway, a large scale public art and environmental graphics project commissioned by FIFA World Cup 2026™️ and New York City Hall.

Celebrating the world’s biggest sporting event, the project transformed New York City’s subway into a moving gallery of global football culture through 48 custom designed train wraps inspired by the identity, colors, and spirit of each participating nation.

Reaching millions of daily riders, the project demonstrates how design can activate public infrastructure at an urban scale, turning everyday commutes into shared cultural experiences.

I loved visiting the @fwc26nynj Queens Group Stage HQ at the iconic @usta Billie Jean National Tennis Center in the World’s Borough! It is open until 6/27 with 40+ performances, fan experiences, and watch parties. I love the @levis custom print tee and @bankofamerica charm bracelet! I captured footages on June 11, so remaining supplies may vary. Free general admission tix are unlocked with code QUEENSHQ (while supplies last) and all guests are required to reserve a ticket in advance for entry. NYC’s subways are transforming into a moving celebration of global soccer for FIFA World Cup 2026™. 🌎🚇⚽️

Riders may have already spotted the R Train featuring Brazil & Morocco and the 1 Train featuring Senegal & France—representing the nations competing in the opening two matches at NYNJ Stadium and giving millions of fans an early glimpse of the excitement headed our way.

Developed in partnership with the FIFA World Cup 2026™ NYNJ Host Committee, New York City Hall, and the @MTA, this unprecedented project will ultimately celebrate all 48 participating nations, transforming the World’s Subway into a tribute to the cultures, colors, and passion that make the FIFA World Cup the world’s biggest sporting event.

Featuring bold country-inspired designs connected by Lady Liberty’s torch and brought to life by NYC-based creative studio @burnandbroad with support from @whereisfootball, each train is a reminder that the world is coming to New York New Jersey. 🗽
