With our health system in crisis, few people would disagree with the need for a 10-year, locked in plan that includes funding and staffing. But when @opportunity_nz says cross-Party, many people treat it like a naive pipe dream, even though it's something New Zealand has already achieved.

Thanks to the tireless work of incredible advocates like @bodypositivenz @positivewomennz @burnettaotearoa and others, New Zealand has a National HIV Action Plan 2023-2030, which was introduced under Labour and has continued under this National-led government. It aims to make NZ the first country in the world to eliminate new, local acquisitions of HIV. This would be literally history making. The latest announcement that PrEP will now be funded regardless of immigration status brings us just one step closer to that goal.

And you know what would make that impossible? A 3-year funding cycle that flip-flops with each government. If we want to solve structural issues, we CANNOT just leave it up to one political bloc. The HIV Action Plan is something all Kiwi can be proud of. We need that kind of buy in to build the stability that will produce the health outcomes Kiwi deserve.

Koutou e pae nei, tēnā koutou!

Introducing our incredible Pou Waiora, Reremoana Rāua ko Fiona Māua — Reremoana and Fee.🌺✨

20 DAYS TO GO! 🧡

HIV today is not what it once was.
Thanks to modern treatment, I can live a healthy, fulfilling life and, most importantly, be myself again.

U = U. Undetectable = Untransmittable.
HIV doesn’t define me. It’s just part of my story.
Still living. Still running. Still me. 🏃🏽‍♂️🧡

MOOOOOORENA ✨💐🌿

🌿 Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori has arrived! 🌿

For Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, and every day beyond it, Hui Takatāpui is celebrating the reo that connects us, strengthens us and keeps our stories alive. 💚

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing kupu, phrases, whakataukī and celebrating our incredible takatāpui and Te Ao Māori queer icons. 🏳️‍🌈✨

This year marks 51 years of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, with the theme Ngā Taone Māori — celebrating the people and communities keeping our reo alive, thriving and proudly spoken.

He reo ora. He reo takatāpui. He reo mō tātou katoa. 🌺
