Oh, my baby love. ❤️
I think I cried more today, like in one sitting than I did over my entire divorce. Oh my gosh.
Today was his last day of high school. Ever.
We drove away from @liberty_christian_argyle, a place that loved us BOTH, for almost a decade.
It. Was. So. Hard.

I’m taking a break for two seconds cause I’ve been packing orders for 11 hours (happily) but I just literally cannot think about him leaving home. It just rips me apart in 1000 pieces.

And today he just like hugged me back so tight, not like a kid hug but like a big comforting hug and he was like “I know Mom, I know!” and he was crying too oh my God it was just….whew.

but also I’m so thankful to have such a close relationship with my kid that neither one of us want him to leave but I know this is what’s best. Thank you Jesus for having him pick a school that’s only an hour and a half away (even if it was the most expensive option), I know it’s gonna be good for him and I know how proud he will be of me when I come up with the money to pay for it for the THIRD DAMN TIME

I would’ve felt so bad if he settled for a different school just because it was cheaper when I know he wants to be close to home and I know he feels safe in that Baylor environment. Blows my mind that his dad wanted him to go to Baylor and is sitting on hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars he stole. Yet Ben’s mom said, Woobie needs to “comfort himself” in all of this. #watchyourmouth

But it’s fine. I’m going to fix it.
The same way I started Kiki LaRue, I’ll do it again. Right now.

And Woobie will know that his mama will ALWAYS keep him safe! And comfort him like a PARENT should.
That’s the goal.

My first time at total archery challenge in San Antonio and my first time to shoot a 3-D target or anything like this from a distance. (I just started archery last month) I did not have my 50 or 60 pin set and my housing won’t go low enough for the 60 pin that I need so I just estimated and prayed on anything over 40. My other videos will show my behind the ropes hits and my behind the ropes “landed in the rocks.” 😂 Used everything Bowtok (@bowboy_77) and @joelturneractual taught me. And @cooperfrencharchery tips too.

I’m happier than I look.
The further I had to walk, the happier I got.
I’m sure no one expected me to love this sport & surely no one expected I’d be any good at it.

Same, sis. Same!
But it has truly been the only thing that can wrangle in my anxiety & keep me focused. I’m going to start treating it as a reward & every day, after I get all my work done, the part yall know that makes me so stressed, I’ll treat myself to some range time!

My goal with archery is to be the best I can AND to regulate my anxiety. I know that hundreds of you message me every day about your anxiousness & I just know that archery would be the answer for you, too! You don’t have to be the best or get it right every time. You just have to focus & let it relax you! It would be so freaking fun if we could meet up at these challenges!

There are not enough women in this sport & they only charge $15 for non-shooters so we could host a meet up in one of the cities & hang out together!

I just never expected archery to be so impactful for my story. Y’all know I’ve been struggling with writing down the timeline & sharing from beginning to end in order, but Carissa keeps pointing out that talking about how I got into archery is a perfect segue.

In 2019, I took my (then unemployed) husband to Africa on a plains game Safari. I bought us the fanciest bows & the best equipment & then jetted off to Africa, in our first class seats. A dream, for sure.

The short version is: he didn’t trust me to shoot anything. I didn’t really trust me. I hadn’t practiced. He brought home 8 trophies (that I paid for & mounted)

In 2023, we got divorced.
He got all my $
But I got my bow.
And I’ll make the money back😉

That bow sat in my garage for 5 years until about a month & a half ago when somebody gave me that opportunity to shoot it at their lease and I haven’t put it down since.

I signed up for Total Archery Challenge on a complete whim, the very first day I’ve ever made a 40 yard shot & told myself if I couldn’t figure it out by then, at least I would learn a lot & have fun!

That couldn’t be more true!
And nobody is telling me, I can’t, anymore😉

The other holes are not my shots! Yall. I am the last girl that you think would be good at this. Not only do I think I’m a damn Disney princess but I don’t even have anywhere to hunt. If I can shoot this well after a month and a half of practice, you can do so much better! So many of y’all are in my DM‘s talking about wanting to try and I think it’s such a good idea because it is such a huge stress relief! My only bad day this week was the day I wasn’t at the range!!
Have you ever shot a bow? What is your draw weight if so? Increasing that is my next big goal! Swipe over and watch when I finally see! I cannot wait to get a better sight but this had me squealing! @mathewsinc @eastonarchery @dialedarchery
