Dear North Carolina ABA, From the depths of my heart—thank you. 💙 People who look like me don’t often get the chance to stand in spaces like this. I’m a Black girl from Georgia/Alabama/Florida (depending on who you ask), who doesn’t care to code switch, loves bold-colored suits, and rocks blonde money pieces in her hair. And yet, here I am; fully myself, fully seen, and fully embraced. But beyond all that, I love what I do. I love my clients. I love my team. And I love the science of ABA. Thank you for giving me the space to share that love at this year’s conference. It still amazes me that I get to wake up every day and do what I love, and somehow, people pay me for it. What a life. I pray that God continues to expand my territory and make room for my gifts. I haven’t told the full story of how I got here, and honestly, I don’t know if I ever will.
