POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Another take on Coltrane's Resolution, this time with Nicholas Payton's arrangement, performed with Butcher Brown. Love what they've done with this one. The pattern creates a really interesting shape too.

The opening groups the 16th notes in fives, with five groups of 5 followed by one group of 7. It creates a really nice two-bar cycle that keeps coming back around.

On this episode of “What Band Are You In?” we meet @steelstring_player of @butcherbrown , a phenomenal jazz band formed in Richmond, Virginia. Morgan shares the band’s origin story and how growing up in a musical household shaped his influences. And it all started because I complimented his beautiful Jordan 4s! A pair of J’s can really bring people together!
