Summer tally: 1,400 miles of two-wheeled dirt adventures 🏍️ + 🚲
Cost: some tires, a little skin, all of my worries.

Throttle therapy is real. Shoutout to @butlermaps for inspiring me to rediscover the American West through a web of forgotten backroads.

This is why @revermoto is not worth the space/data on your phone. It’s navigation (turn-by-turn) is inaccurate and unreliable. It cannot re-route and gives you flat out WRONG DATA! In this example the app was showing a right turn, saying turn right, but the arrow points left. It is a shame because their @butlermaps integration is great, but the app is complete garbage. I can confirm they lost 2 account renewals this weekend.

210 miles in the books today. We incorporated @butlermaps roads into this trip. We did a lot of new to us asphalt and it was awesome. Thanks again to @lbbmwmoto for hooking us up with this beautiful yet to be named 1300 GS. #2uptogether We believe adventure is best shared with the one you love. Our hope is that we inspire others to share adventure with the one they love.

After more than a decade of chasing dirt we are going to start chasing some @butlermaps roads. The G1, G2 & G3 roads should go nicely with our new GS. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Well we are going to show you. We are going to pivot a bit and chase those roads beginning this week. #2uptogether We believe adventure is best shared with the one you love. Our hope is that we inspire others to share adventure with the one they love.

That's a wrap on the Cow Tag! Should we do it again next year?

HIGHLIGHTS:

▪︎ 120 rider participants signed up for the inaugural event.

▪︎ More than half of the riders participated in 2-hour trail work sessions to earn bonus points for their teams 💪 (Before, During, and After pics coming soon!)

▪︎ Over $7,000 in prizes.

▪︎ In addition to raising funds for the TPA's mission of trail stewardship and advocacy, riders contributed an additional $800 to the local trail club The GOATs.

▪︎ 16 riders came without CPW OHV registrations and were able to purchase their stickers on site.

▪︎ Megs Braap hosted 3 clinics on site during the event and donated the entire proceeds to the TPA 🙏

▪︎ The Golden Nugget provided dinner Sat night and breakfast burritos both mornings.

▪︎ Bivouac Coffee provided freshly brewed hot coffee each morning ☕️

▪︎ 20 volunteers helped pull the event off 🙌

There were a handful of mechanical failures, including a bike recovery mission off Star Trail that lasted late into Sat night, but only one medical issue.

Since 2010, Backcountry Discovery Routes® (BDR®) has proudly partnered with Butler Maps to produce planning maps for each BDR route. Together, along with the distribution support of both Butler Maps and Touratech-USA, BDR has helped riders explore and connect with the backcountry in meaningful ways.

Over the years, BDR has grown from a small grassroots effort into a nationwide route network and community while remaining focused on its core mission: serving riders, expanding access to resources, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the riding opportunities created by the nonprofit organization.

The recent launch of the BDR online store has been an incredible success and now plays an important role in strengthening BDR’s financial foundation. Moving forward, the BDR online store will be the only place to purchase BDR maps and merchandise online. A select number of motorcycle dealerships will continue to carry maps in-store for riders who prefer to shop locally.

While Butler Maps will no longer sell BDR maps, the company has long set the standard for premium adventure travel maps, helping BDR riders, as well as countless non-motorcycling explorers, connect with iconic off-pavement routes, remote destinations, scenic highways, and hidden gems across the continent.

BDR would like to express its deep gratitude to @butlermaps and @touratechusa for their years of partnership, support, and friendship. These relationships have been, and continue to be, instrumental in BDR’s growth and success, and we are proud to continue working alongside them as valued collaborators in the adventure riding community.

It’s not just the riding.

The routes are dialed and the terrain is unreal. But also… Hot showers. Good beds. Great meals. Sitting around after a full day swapping stories with a crew that gets it.

Hub tours are the perfect balance of big days on the bike and actually enjoying where you land.

Ride, reset, repeat.

Jackson Hole Hub Tour — July 26-31
Buena Vista & Ouray Hub — Aug 23-38
