🥒 PicklePalooza is back this Saturday, and apparently the humble pickle has inspired a whole lot more than just food.

Along with local vendors, live music and the Pickle Off, Relish The Day will bring together local artists and pickle themed pieces for a one day exhibition and silent auction at @theobrienfarmnl .

We’ve been spotting some pretty unexpected creations from @gaylecceramics , @katrinatalianacreates , @buttercupstudiosco , @lukasthorne.art , and @elena_popkova_art , and honestly, we didn’t expect pickles to inspire this much creativity.

If you’re looking for something a little different to do this Saturday, this one is definitely worth checking out.

📍 O’Brien Farm, 150 Oxen Pond Road
🗓️ Saturday, September 12
🕚 11 AM to 4 PM

Would you go for the food, the art or the Pickle Off?

We want to give a BIG thank you to everyone who participated in our Members' Exhibition and Silent Auction! 💗😘 Exhibiting members, auction participants, folks who bidded on pieces and helped us pay artists and raise funds for EE programming--we appreciate you all!!!

Our Members' Exhibition is always a warm reminder of how incredible our community is. While we're sad to see the show come down, we are looking forward to another great one next year!

As we settle into September, we're working on resetting the gallery and preparing for new gallery programming soon. Stay tuned! 👀

👩‍⚖️ From 4-6pm, we will be hosting a Silent Auction Closing Event, where folks will have the opportunity to make any last minute bids on artworks they have their eye on. Did you know….

Since November 2024, Meridian founder, Pamela, has been working with the YWCA?

It’s been an honour to share my experience to date in entrepreneurship and in life, with the YWCA CareerCompass Program in St. John’s!

The CareerCompass program is a career exploration, readiness, and mentorship program developed by YWCA for young women and gender diverse youth between ages 18 and 30.

It’s a great reminder that we don’t necessarily need to be that “far ahead” in order to support another starting out on the journey. I know my fears and doubts have held me back at times. Being part of this program has been validating and inspiring! I’ve been blessed to have support and still do, we all need support.

I highly recommend volunteering in any capacity as giving back and connecting with community brings so many rewards.

Thank you YWCA St. John’s and to my mentee Hilary Cooper for the opportunity to work together in this capacity.

Here is some feedback from my mentee that I wanted to share:

Hi Pam,
I’ve really enjoyed this experience with you and while we may not be in the same line of work, I believe we are in similar mindsets. Going in to the program I thought I wanted to be paired up with an artist, however I’m glad they couldn’t find me one as it led me to you and your entrepreneurial skills and mentorship. Working with you over the past few months has been very encouraging and grounding and our meetings are something I look forward to.

You have given me some great advice when it comes to responding to clients, reaching out to local organizations, and where to go next. And even though we are in different industries, you always know what to say where it relates to interpersonal and social connections, entrepreneurship, and more.

I appreciate everything you have given me during the program and I look forward to being able to pay it forward to someone in the future.

Thank you so much,
Hilary

I am very much looking forward to my next meeting with Hilary as I too am learning 💕
