Happy closing to @lempickakr / @lempickamusical

It was truly a privilege to spend almost ten weeks in Seoul immersed in the world of this beautiful show.

Thanks to everyone who trusted me to restage the show in Korea and who worked with me to bring this production to life, including @rachel.chavkin @fakemattgould @carsonkreitzer @rajafeatherkelly @richardriaz @remykurs

Thanks to the INCREDIBLE cast, your lightness and your dedication will remain an inspiration. Can't wait for the next time we get to work together.

💐Safflower, calendula, rhubarb, indigo, sunflowers and more… these will be blooming for Fall 2026 to be made into dyes🫟
#Ollas are the terra cotta sculptures made from students recently from our Arts and Society Dialogues Idea Forum @smfaattufts @smfafibers @tuftsdaily @tuftsuniversity
🌱They are scattered throughout the garden beds to slowly leak rainwater, feeding the seedlings with moisture.

Thank you Leslie Rogers @buttflincher for showing us how to make these organic dye plants grow and thanks to all who came out to plant and water today.

👀We are looking for a person who can regularly water these babies over the remainder of this month.
This is a paid job, please DM @buttflincher if you are interested🤑

Thank you to everyone who braved the rain to join us for NEW DIRT, our first event at our developing garden site in Detroit!! 🙌

There was beautiful art on display made by students from @ccs_detroit and local Detroit artists that explore natural ways of making, a mini-mosaic station, and milkweed seed-bomb making with @shannamerola 🌿

We can’t wait to share more of this space with you as it grows!! Please consider a donation to our @patronicity campaign to help us meet our goal, every donation matters, no matter the amount!! Link in bio 🙏🙏🙏

This Earth Day I’m feeling incredibly grateful for this crew, all the things we’ve learned this semester at @ccs_detroit, and our progress building the Garden Lab for Eco-Creative Futures at @creativebodyinstitute. It’s been a dream to teach this course and incorporate more sustainability into our photography and art-making. The work is never done, and there are many failed experiments along the way, but there is a brighter path ahead as we strive to live in balance with each other and our delicate ecosystem 🌿

Please join us for the pop-up exhibition NEW DIRT this Friday, April 24, 5-8pm at 1144 Pingree Street in Detroit to see work made by the students and their mentors this semester and get a sneak peek of the garden so far!

Tuesday, March 31: Sculptural Costume Fundamentals Workshop with Leslie Rogers, 5-8pm
In preparation for the Soil Factory Summer School, and a boon to the Craft Studio’s Parade plans, former Artist-in-Residence and dear friend of the Soil Factory, Leslie Rogers is returning for just one evening to share a sculptural costume masterclass! In anticipation of a Summer School Plant Pageant—an upcoming opportunity to become your favorite plant, then get them their flowers! We’ll turn trash into form using cardboard and upholstery foam to make hard and soft plant parts. Come to learn some sculpture skills, and also learn more about the Plant Pageant!

📢 Big news!
SMFA PoPs have reached a tentative agreement (TA) on our first union contract during today’s bargaining session! 🎉

This historic moment reflects the power of showing up together. With meaningful wins and stronger solidarity, we’re building something that reaches far beyond a single contract. 💜✊

Huge thanks to all of our colleagues and students who showed up, and to our Bargaining Committee for their incredible work over the past two years. Deep gratitude as well to @seiu509, @anna_strophe, and @patrickneilbryant for guiding us every step of the way.

We miss you @souledeesse @t.romes @tmcrane613 David and Triton 💞

This weekend we went to the MI State Fair in Novi for a suprise @buttflincher birthday celebration. I brought my newest lens: Nikkor 70-200mm to get more comfy with it. It is a big beast to tote around, but some of the shots are priceless. Here are some highlights.
