POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Barbering showed up in my life because of some amazing people. My Barbers Anna @buzzedandbladed and Rona @tonsoriumstudio took care of me through my entire time on the west coast, they consistently made me feel inspired and motivated every time they cut my hair. When I came to Chicago, I met @julio.chicago who was my Barber for so long in Chicago. Always learning and honing his craft, a great conservator that always exchanged knowledge with me. I still learn a lot from this guy today!

I then met a group of Barbers from the Bay Area called @paradoxbarbers , specifically @jordanparadox and @jr.paradox who gave me their story and when they gifted me the Paradox cap and the bandana, it was almost as if they passed the manifest energy of Barbering over to me in that moment. That was a moment that got me to where I am today.

Because of those guys, I got to meet another crew here in Chicago called @fernwoodbarbers . I had already met @carlodoza just in organic passing many times when he was a visitor at the shop I worked at but through many conversations and stories, I loved being around their energy.

After being around Barbering as a client and a spectator for a while, in winter 2022 @daaaaaaaaaaaaang really set the tone when he asked me if I ever thought of picking up Barbering? I shrugged it off for perhaps a year since I wanted to continue pursuing my Graphic Design but then it hit me, I just felt it in my bones towards the end of 2022. 2023 I awakened in it and pursued it. I walked by Fernwood everyday coming home from work and I asked to work there. When I became a shop hand, the rest was history.

Fast forward to now, as I finish the last few days of 1500 hours(took me 2+ years), I reflect on how this beautiful craft entered my life. Everything I did lead me up to now. Everyone I met guided me to this. I’m so thankful. Thank you ya’ll. For inspiring, for showing me what this craft is. I strive to be great. It was the hardest moments these past few years but I’m still glad I’m here pursuing and gaining knowledge.
