Local Vendor shout out #4. @ross_flats. As a kid (eventually the era ending in 2004 with the team’s departure) the Trappers were a staple of spring and summer. When I found Ross Flats’ site, my first purchase was this circa ‘82 cap. There are many other hat, shirt, and Trapper items to check out on his site. Perfect gifts for a YEG born/raised ball fan. #trappers, #PCL, #yegbusiness rossflats.ca

My hubby has been asking me to make pierogis long before I even knew what a pierogi was. Today his dream came true.

What a fun weekend! We had our first overnight tournament in Kearney. The kids (and parents) had a great time hanging out, swimming and bonding. Can't wait for the next one!

A ticket from the final Edmonton Trapper home game. September 2nd, 2004 was a rough day for sure. Dad and I toughed it out at Telus Field through a 90 minute rain delay prior to first pitch. They got a half inning in before the lightning started and they called it for good. Before heading out, the PA blared out “Auld Lang Syne” Dad and I with tears going. While everyone else associates that tune with New Years, it is a Baseball song in my mind. Grew up at Ducey/Telus Field.

A cool Rockwell Print which my Mother-in-Law picked up for me at a garage sale. The depiction pretty much sums up how this summer unfolded in Edmonton.

First day of school! It's a beautiful day and everyone got to school on time.

I told the kids that they were babies I used to think about days like this, when they were older and wondered what they would be like. It seemed like so far in the future. But, here we are.

Not sure why Jason's head got cropped off in my last post. I guess that's what I get for having a hubby that's a tall drink of water. 😘

Having a fun night at work here with my team at nForm, hosting the local Edmonton event for World IA Day tonight. Fun having so many people here, and such great speakers...even that Jason guy.

It's 4:30 am. I look out the window and look what I see. My husband is out flooding the backyard rink. And, he's probably been up most of the night to add ice, layer by layer. All because he wants the kids to have memories they'll look back on fondly. Well, and let's be honest, he's a kid at heart when it comes to skating/hockey. .

I think this is the happiest I've seen him in months. Why? Because we are on a family bus adventure to the mall. Yes, the bus in Omaha. Yes, the mall days before Christmas.
