Camp Courage 2026 💖🧚🏼 “Courage looks different on everyone”. I’m so grateful to be a lead another year at Camp Courage! Planning the night time events for the kiddos to push outside of their comfort zone and make memories with friends is amazing 💜 Grateful for all the friendships I’ve made at camp as well! Love my camp family so much 💜 More pics to come! #burncamp #campcourage #burnfoundation #family

What a weekend! Early Friday I drove up to Prescott to experience Camp Courage for the first time — @arizonaburn longest running camp for kid burn survivors. Friday was Firefighter & Sponsor Day and it did NOT disappoint. Firefighters from around the state turned the camp into the biggest water fight of the summer — foam party, water balloons, squirt guns, even the fire truck hose! Nobody stayed dry 😂 Beyond the fun, it was emotional, impactful and exactly what I didn’t know I needed in my own healing journey. I saw familiar faces and met many new ones, both big and small. So thankful that 22 years after my burn injury I finally made it up there and my community of burn survivors and supporters is growing. Saturday was for celebrating my fave (and only 😉) niece @ashley.nevaehh high school graduation with a fam pool party — so proud of her and nothing beats good quality family time and lots of laughs! We had a blast!! Then Sunday was icing on the cake with killer seats at the Diamondbacks game with @shawna.reed813 (big thanks @creedawg ! 🙌). We had the best time catching up and the @dbacks brought home the W to top it off! Even ran into a friend I haven’t seen since high school — full circle moment! Still feeling all the happy feels!! 🫶🏼❤️⚾ #CampCourage #BurnSurvivor #famtime #diamondbacks #weekendvibes

One week ago, at almost this exact moment, I reached the top of the Grand Canyon after 13 and a half hours. 21 miles of countless switchbacks, aching legs, blistered feet and one of the hardest, most challenging things I’ve ever chosen to do. But not the hardest thing I’ve been through. Not by a long shot… The canyon challenged me physically, mentally and emotionally. It mirrors so much of what healing from a burn injury feels like. Some stretches felt impossible. Some moments hurt. Some are lonely. The only way forward is one slow step at a time. I made an intention to ponder “healing” throughout the hike — and the thing about it is, it’s not a checkbox. Not a “hey, you’re healed from the crazy life-altering moment that happened” that someday gets ticked off. I came to the conclusion that it’s a lifelong process, a journey — especially with others who are healing too. We do it together, every step of the way. I’m struggling to put into words just how meaningful it was to hike alongside other burn survivors, selfless supporters, and humans with giant hearts (and finish the damn thing with my beautiful, resilient, badass friend!). Everyone who came together to raise awareness and support for the burn community that means so much to me through this Conquering the Canyon fundraiser. I’m proud to say we raised over $30k!! A week later, my body finally feels better, I totally still have hiking brain — but my heart is overflowing with love and gratitude. Thank you to every person who donated, encouraged, checked in, hiked beside me, and especially the ones who carried me through the earlier moments of my healing journey. Thank you @k2adventuretravel for keeping us safe and the company along the trail. And lastly the biggest thank you to @arizonaburn - I am so grateful for this community I now have because of you. ❤️‍🔥 #ConqueringTheCanyon #SurviveToThrive #BurnSurvivorStrong #HealingJourney #GrandCanyon

ONE MONTH COUNTDOWN BEGINS NOW! On May 16, I’ll be Conquering the Canyon: Survive to Thrive - hiking about 25 miles across the Grand Canyon with over 10,000 feet of elevation change in a single day! I won’t be doing it alone, I’m braving this challenge alongside 9 incredible hikers; 3 other burn survivors and 6 selfless supporters. We’re all united by the same goal: supporting @arizonaburn. This cause is deeply personal to me. As a burn survivor, I know that healing doesn’t end when the physical wounds close. While I recovered physically many years ago, the mental and emotional journey was much harder, longer, and often isolating in ways that are impossible to explain. It wasn’t until I connected with the Arizona Burn Foundation 6yrs ago that I truly began to heal the scars that no one sees. They helped me shift my identity from “burn victim” to burn survivor, and that literally changed my life. ABF’s mission to prevent, survive, and thrive isn’t just words - it’s real support, real community, and real hope for people navigating the hardest moments of their lives. I’m taking on this hike for those who are newly injured, for those still finding their way, and to help ensure no burn survivor has to walk their journey to recovery alone as long as I did. My hope is that you consider supporting me this year as I take on this challenge. Your financial support helps ensure ABF can continue to provide every burn survivor the support they need to heal and opportunities to thrive in life. If you’d like to support, I promise that every donation big or small truly makes a meaningful impact! And qualifies for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit! Link to donate is in my profile or please reach out to me directly. . #conqueringthecanyon #arizonaburnfoundation #burnsurvivor #hikeforcharity #thriving

ABF Conquer the Canyon Rim to Rim loading… 🥾 Training miles so far: ⛰️🌵🏜️ Hawes Trail (6.5m) -> Tom’s Thumb (5m) -> Peralta Trail in the Supes (6m) -> Telegraph Pass SoMtn (7m) 4 of 12 hikes down… officially a third of the way there! Grateful for a rare weekend off to rest and reset and excited for the next hike this weekend! The views have been exceptional but the best part hasn’t been the miles… it’s the amazing people I’ve met! A few fellow survivors who share the experience and challenges of healing from burns, and the big-hearted humans choosing to show up and support something bigger than themselves. Together we’re hiking to support and raise awareness for the mission of @arizonaburn to Prevent, Survive, Thrive. I’m hiking the Grand Canyon R2R for the Arizona Burn Foundation… every step is for survivors like me ❤️ Cheer me on or support via the link in bio #ConquerTheCanyon #GrandCanyonRimToRim #ArizonaBurnFoundation #BurnSurvivor #HikeForACause

OUR HIKERS DID IT!! 🥾🌄 They completed the 25-mile trek from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to the South Rim and raised ☀️$41,490☀️ in vital funds for ABF! These funds will allow us to continue to support burn survivors throughout the year through our client care services and camps. These amazing individuals are a testament of resilience and how to tackle hard things head on. Each one was hiking for a purpose and their own “why.” Their commitment and selflessness is beyond admirable! In addition to those hiking, there was a huge group of supporters behind the scenes, friends, family, K2 Adventures, and of course Cunningham Law for their continued support of ABF and our mission of supporting burn survivors and their families. Who’s ready for the next hike?! ⛰️ #ABF #recap #ARIZONABURNFOUNDATION #BURNSURVIVORS #K2ADVENTURESFOUNTATION #rimtorim #grandcanyon #hiking #raisingawareness #thrive #valleyofthesun #phoenix #northernaz #hikingadventures #sponsor #nonprofit #hikingthegrandcanyon #adventure #backpacking #hikingforcharity
