somehow, celebrating JJ turning two felt bigger than a birthday…

it felt like pausing long enough to notice how much we’ve both changed. how this little boy has stretched me, softened me, and met me in places I didn’t even realize needed healing.

this party was loud, chaotic, sweet, imperfect. exactly like this season of life. kids racing around the house, frosting on fingers, toys everywhere, disagreements over cars, tears over candles, music, laughter, rain! sooo much rain, last-minute pivots… and yet in the middle of it all, I kept thinking: this is love learning to breathe out loud. 💞

motherhood hasn’t made me calmer or more put-together. it’s made me braver. it’s taught me to show up even when I’m tired, to sit on the floor when I’d rather take a break, to let go of perfection in order to feel more present, to love without needing things to be easy.

he doesn’t need a flawless mom — he just needs ME. and somehow, that’s where the growing happens.

watching JJ celebrate surrounded by people who adore him reminded me that these years aren’t just building his childhood…

they’re rebuilding parts of me.

teaching me patience I never practiced, joy that doesn’t need permission, and a love that keeps expanding even in the messiest moments.

there’s a saying that a boy is born from his mother’s womb but he comes straight from heaven to care for her soul.

it’s not by chance. it’s on purpose. and being a boy mom means being healed by the love you once lacked. 🥹

here’s to realizing that year two wasn’t just his year of becoming. it was ours. this little boy isn’t just growing. he’s growing me too. 🥰✨

i thought about making some highlight reel of 2024, but let’s be honest…with my track record, i probably won’t post it til the end of Jan lol. so enjoy the JJchella after movie, compliments of @itsjayaura 🔥

but sitting here today, i can’t help but reflect on how amazingly life has shifted my perspective. that type A girl who needed everything perfectly planned? she’s learned to find peace in the beautiful chaos of motherhood 😌

practicing mindfulness has helped me give myself a little more grace…when the mom guilt kicks in; when the house is a mess but i’m just so tired; or when the kid is just having a really tough day filled with fussiness and crying. i realize sometimes it’s ok for me to cry too.

but this year filled my heart with so much gratitude:

💗 learned that success isn’t just about hustle - it’s about being present. i’ve never been more thankful for my career. somehow the universe aligned perfectly, letting me be both fully present mama who witnessed every precious JJ moment while still being a dedicated realtor who showed up fully for my clients and colleagues

❤️‍🩹 discovered the raw beauty of vulnerability - to my incredible circle who showed up without being asked, who held space during those overwhelming new mom moments - you’ve redefined what friendship means to me

💞 marveled at how partnership deepens through parenthood - my husband and i aren’t just partners, we’re a team navigating this wild parenting journey together. the teething struggles, endless giggles, and chaos-filled days have only made our bond stronger

❤️‍🔥 kept my spirit alive - yes, i’m the mom who needs a strategic pregame nap to make it to the end of a show/music festival now 😅. but reconnecting with the music, dancing with friends into the night, and holding onto these pieces of myself? absolutely worth every sleepy morning after.

💖 embraced this evolution - this new version of me is softer yet stronger, more patient yet still driven, and honestly? i’m falling more in love with her every day. motherhood hasn’t just changed me, it’s unveiled who i was always meant to become

here’s to filling 2025 with more joy, love, abundance, and pure magic. happy new year! 💫
