BLACK HISTORY MONTH 2026 | HONOURING OUR COMMUNITIES 🖤

This year’s theme, “Honouring Our Communities,” really resonates with me.

Because when I think about community, I think about people who are willing to show up for others.

As part of Options 2 Outcomes, I had the privilege of calling on seven people from my community to share their stories, experiences and journeys and they did exactly that.

They gave their time.
They opened up about their experiences.
They shared the highs, the challenges, the lessons and the realities of their journeys.

And most importantly, they gave young people something tangible:

real people, real experiences and real possibilities.

I want to personally pay homage to each of my seven guests. @thebouncyapple @kyleeemurray
@d.r.b_aesthetics
@kylei86 @jaihopes @sayceholmeslewis @mrimafidon

Thank you for saying yes.
Thank you for trusting me with your stories.
Thank you for using your voice.
And thank you for helping me amplify the conversation around the NEET crisis.

For me, this is what honouring our communities looks like.
Additional shout outs to production @projuicerjay @aa_mediastudios @bvisualent

It’s recognising the people around us who are already making a difference and creating opportunities for them to pass their knowledge, experiences and inspiration on to the next generation.

Seven people might seem like a small number.

But I believe one story can change a perspective, one conversation can open a door, and one person can help change an outcome.

To my seven guests and production team I see you, I appreciate you, and I honour you. 🖤

This is why I do what I do.

Options 2 Outcomes because every young person deserves to see what’s possible.

Options 2 Outcomes (O2O) is scheduled for an official launch next month.

Options 2 Outcomes, with #ThatMsHolness, is designed to assist young individuals aged 14–25 in aligning their educational choices with viable career paths. The program offers authentic narratives, practical guidance, and demonstrates that success is not always a linear progression. Additionally, each episode will include complimentary, real-world work experience opportunities, providing direct access, valuable experiences, and avenues for career advancement.

We are currently in the post-production phase for Season 1 and have commenced pre-production for Season 2, given the overwhelmingly positive feedback received even prior to our official launch.

Driven by a commitment to providing deserving opportunities for young people, I have enlisted the support of my friends for Season 1 and Season 2 guest list is being finalised. The names of these individuals will be revealed at the watch party, which will also serve as a triple celebration: the podcast launch, my 20th anniversary in education, and my birthday of reaching Level 4.

Discussions are ongoing regarding the organisation of an event or watch party specifically for educators and stakeholders.

As this is a self-funded initiative aimed at sustaining its mission and accessibility, we respectfully request your support through sharing and subscribing when we officially launch.

We are also actively fundraising to reinvest in production efforts, which can be supported at gofund.me/dd06fdd1e.

A guest announcement is scheduled for release during the summer. In the interim, we are actively pursuing sponsorship opportunities and appearances to engage our target audience, which includes companies, youth organisations and schools. We are also keen to hear from individuals who possess CIC status and here of funding opportunities to help advance our mission.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the organisations that have already provided their support.

What a beautiful Saturday afternoon spent slowing down, creating, and connecting ✨🕯️

Our candle-making event gave parents some much-needed time to relax, unwind and enjoy being creative. From choosing scents and colours to learning the candle-making process and naming each unique creation, it was such a joyful experience 🤍

It was also a safe space for SEND parents to connect with one another and have open conversations. We shared an important discussion around women’s health, particularly menopause, learning key facts and where to go for support if concerns arise 🌸

A huge thank you to @bvisualent for capturing these special moments and putting together such a beautiful reel. Memories like these mean everything 💫
