Common misconceptions when it comes to hair…

1. Going to your hair appointment with dirty hair will actually make your process longer & more difficult. This is from way back when & chemicals in hair products were way harsher. Hair chemicals are way more gentle now

2. Extensions don’t cause damage. An improper install can cause damage to your hair. You not caring for your extensions at home can damage your hair. As long as your stylist is doing a good install & you’re following care instructions, you’re golden babe

3. You can have blonde/lightened hair & still have healthy hair. As long as your hair is being lifted safely & you’re caring for it by using professional products, you can live your best healthy blonde life

4. Your hair is going to grow at the same rate no matter how many times you cut it. What haircuts ACTUALLY DO is get rid of your dead/split ends. If you leave your dead ends for too long, they will continue to split up the hair shaft causing breakage. Haircuts help you notice more length by keeping it from breaking off, but it doesn’t help your hair grow faster

5. Putting a darker color over your fried, damaged, crispy hair isn’t going to magically make it healthier. It’s still going to be in the exact same condition. Just darker & even harder to make lighter in the future if you know you’re going to want to go light again

6. PURPLE 👏🏼 SHAMPOO 👏🏼 DOES 👏🏼 NOT 👏🏼 MAKE 👏🏼 YOUR 👏🏼 HAIR 👏🏼 LIGHTER 👏🏼 it cancels out yellow tones. If you use it when you’re blonde is yellowing, it helps neutralize it, not make it lighter. if you over use purple shampoo you are actually going to make your hair appear darker

7. Your hair needs protein. But too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. If you put too much protein in your hair, it will actually cause your hair to break even more

8. Ashy/icy does not mean brighter.Ash is a cool tone. Cool tones absorb light & appear darker, warm tones reflect light & appear brighter

9. Molecules in coconut oil are too big to penetrate the hair so they will just coat your hair & prevent actual moisture from getting in & your hair will break
