one year ago magic manifested irl! @by.kmsilas “ARE YOU INTERESTED IN ME?” 2025 was an exhibition that was born out of pure love of the game, intertwining 2D and textile art. Being able to team up and puzzle piece work together with someone as fabulously & incredibly creative as @by.kmsilas was (and will always be) such a huge honor. It’s something I will forever cherish. From proposal to collaboration pieces, every step was wonderful with the magical kaelin by my side! Truly a passion child of a show and i am just forever proud of it. @uwsoe

We are pleased to introduce the student project team selected for the UW-Madison x Akris Brand Consulting Project, a collaboration between the School of Human Ecology and Akris, the Swiss luxury fashion house known for its minimalist design, innovative textiles, and expert craftsmanship. Over the next three months, four students, two majoring in Consumer Behavior & Marketplace Studies and two in Textiles & Fashion Design, will develop a comprehensive brand marketing proposal, presenting to Akris’ chief executives at the end of the semester. Led by Laura Hensen, the team will participate in weekly project meetings and visit the new Akris boutique in Chicago. We can’t wait to see the innovative strategies this team develops. Stay tuned for updates as they embark on this journey with Akris.
