Carrboro is full of little moments that make you stop and smile, like Avery and Alexa’s zine, tucked into the West Carrboro Mini m’Art, documenting their visit back in April. Follow along as we recreate their day, hopping around downtown and exploring local businesses before eventually winding up at what brought them to town in the first place: the Eliza McLamb concert at Cat’s Cradle! We love seeing people come into town and make a day of it. What’s your favorite way to spend a day around town? 💕

I just got back from a visit to SCAD-Atlanta where I was invited to be the juror for their annual student artists’ book competition. There were 116 incredibly clever and beautiful books that I had the difficult task of narrowing down to just 3 awards & 4 honorable mentions. The accompanying programs included a student workshop where we made single-sheet books, and a moderated discussion. Thank you SCAD, and congratulations to the amazingly talented and thoughtful students! Here are some pics of the events, the “jury room”, exhibition in the SCAD Library, and the amazing winners of this year’s competition! Also, students, if you want me to tag you with your book just message me! #artistsbooks #scadatlanta #savannahcollegeofartanddesign #letterpress #bookbinding

HAIKU IN THE PARK It was a lovely day in Forsyth Park today; I even enjoyed the tree pollen and droppings and the caterpillars. The picture is from 6:30 in the morning, when we set up to get a good space. The camera flash gives a false impression that I am awake and bright eyed. Lots and lots of people, and I sold a good number of books, and got to speak again to several people who have bought my books before - always a pleasure. It was really nice talking to Avery and Alexa from Dogeared, the new Savannah literary magazine (find them @dogearedliterary). I also want to mention that for First Friday, we especially enjoyed Brandon Pinzon's new art photography show, "FROM WITHIN," at Cute Tomatoes Gallery. It is very powerful and moving. Go see it. In closing, next week I plan to be in Forsyth Park on Sunday instead of Saturday, as there is the Women's Marathon and 5K on Saturday. Enjoy April! It's a beautiful month, no matter what T.S. Eliot says.

Meet Petali: a botanical beverage made with natural ingredients for a premium taste and feel. Petali is more than soda — it is a carefully curated experience. With flavors inspired by blooming florals paired with grounding citrus base notes, Petali is the ultimate refresher on its own or as a mixer in one of our signature drink recipes. Enjoy our Elderflower Lemonade Spring Squeeze, or our Saffron Spritz in the Golden Hour. Don’t forget our Mint Limeade — perfect on a sunny day or in a classic Mint & Stone. With Petali, every sip is one to savor.
