From an empty space to a ‘Black’ Carpet Experience. ✨

For the ACLT Gift of Life Gala, we transformed the space at InterContinental London Park Lane into a complete branded arrival experience.

From the 6m media wall and bespoke artwork to the carpet, lighting and finishing touches every element came together to create a space ready to welcome guests and capture the night.

Lights. Camera. Action. 🎬

The Marathon Series 🇩🇪🇺🇸🇨🇦
Week 11/13 ✅

📏 Total Mileage: 66km
🏃 10.1km – Recovery Run with @ellexbx
🏃 10km – Easy Run with @farhannah.dj
🏃 10.8km – 1km Repeats
🏃 12km – Easy Run with @hillspaythebills
🏃 23km – Race Practice Long Run

Another solid week in the bank — and I was honestly surprised by how good my legs felt after The Big Half. I managed to run four days in a row straight after it, which gave me a lot of confidence in how well the body is recovering.

I also really enjoyed the Monday and Tuesday runs with friends I hadn’t properly caught up with in a while. Those kms absolutely flew by.

The shins started to niggle slightly later in the week, so I took two full days off before the long run. That definitely paid off — I finished the long run, hit the key pace block, and the shins had settled almost completely.

After finishing around 4km short last week, it was also nice to make that mileage back up this week.
I did miss the strength session, but I’ve got next week to put a bit more focus back on strength.

Overall rating: 8.5/10. A really positive week for both fitness and recovery.

💡 Lesson learned: Recovery is part of the training. Taking two days off didn’t cost me fitness — it helped me show up better for the session that mattered.

Time to now taper in Week 12. 🇩🇪🔥

The Marathon Series 🇩🇪🇺🇸🇨🇦
Week 6/13 ✅

📏 Total Mileage: 63.5km

🏃 11.15km – Tempo 5km
🏋️ 1 – Lower Body Strength Session with @runna
⛰️ 10.5km – 7 Hills with @hillspaythebills
🏃 28km – Long Run with Marathon Pace Work
🏃 14km – Easy Run with @dboyjonesyy

Steadily increasing the mileage again after last week's deload, and this week definitely tested me.

The 28km long run was a strange one. I initially struggled to hit the first pace target (slower than mara pace), but when it was time for the longer and faster block, the legs came alive and I managed to hold mara pace comfortably. 😅

Overall rating: 8.5/10. A challenging week at times, but the fitness is moving in the right direction and I'm getting more comfortable running faster on tired legs.

💡 Lesson learned: Don't judge a run by how you feel at the start — sometimes the legs just need a little longer to wake up.

Onto Week 7. 🇩🇪🔥

The Marathon Series 🇩🇪🇺🇸🇨🇦
Week 5/13 ✅
📏 Total Mileage: 40.5km
🏊 1km – Recovery Swim
🏃 8.7km – Mile Repeats
🏋️ 2 – Strong Foundation Sessions with @runna
🏃 15km – Long Run with @ross_a_hurford and @hillspaythebills
⛰️ 10.6km – 7 Hills with @hillspaythebills
🏃 6.5km – Easy Run with @trainteachtravel & @caitlinchick_

After a heavy week last week, this deload week couldn't have come at a better time.
This was the perfect opportunity to prioritise recovery, continue building strength, and finally ease the pain from my shin splints.

Deload weeks are funny. It still felt strange running so much less than the previous week, but I know there are plenty of bigger weeks ahead. Sometimes taking a step back is exactly what's needed to keep moving forward.

The focus of this week was all about @hillspaythebills and seeing the running community come together to celebrate @mr.renewong @shy_like_me @gym_jdm who ran 7Hills the whole of July to raise awareness for NHS Blood Donations (see Ren's bio to donate or learn more). You 3 all have my respect 🙏🏾

Overall rating: 8.5/10. I finished the week feeling fresher, stronger, and ready for what's coming next.

💡 Lesson learned: Easy days should be easy. The better you recover between sessions, the stronger you'll be when it's time to push.

Next week the mileage climbs back up to 63km, and I'm excited to get back into the bigger marathon-specific weeks. 🇩🇪🔥
