🎬 SUPPLY & DEMAND – PART 1 | DELETED SCENES & REAL EMOTIONS ❤️ One of our deleted scenes, and sadly, the last time we all saw Jim. He was funny, he was kind, and most importantly, he was our friend. ❤️ As the director, I was determined to keep Jim's presence in the movie. So @phil.coppola was recast, storylines were rewritten, and themes were reworked. We started casting from our amazing local Muay Thai gym @hanuman_edinburgh, and somewhere along the way I got chatting to an ex-soldier. He told me a story of incredible courage, but also about how the Army sometimes fails the very veterans who have served their country. So I did what any director would do. I tricked him into acting. 😂 I asked him to come along and advise us on a scene. When he turned up, I cast him! He wasn't a trained actor, but the rawness and honesty he brought to that scene was something you simply couldn't manufacture. And that's what the audience feels. The same happened with our funeral scene. The audience is grieving for fictional characters. But we were grieving our friend. Those emotions weren't performed. They were real. And then there was the music. I was contacted by an ex-nun who liked my music. When we eventually met, she didn't speak. She sang in Gaelic. It touched my soul. I asked her, "Could you do that in a movie?" And she did. I will never forget that day on set. You could have heard a pin drop when she started singing. Again, the audience was watching our fictional world, but the emotions behind it were completely real. That's what I've always loved about filmmaking. Sometimes the most powerful moments aren't written in a screenplay. They come from the people, their experiences, their pain, their courage and their humanity. We might have been making a fictional crime drama, but the heart of it was always real. This one's for Jim. ❤️ 🎥 Watch Supply & Demand Part 1 FREE on YouTube.
