Font in Use đŸ–€ Absolutely delighted to see my Fraktion typeface featured in this beautiful identity project. @byotherstudio used both the Regular and Mono cuts to create a minimalist visual language for @thematchakyoto The system balances structure and softness, combining a restrained grid, quiet typography, and natural textures to evoke purity and calm. It’s a wonderful example of how a mechanically inspired typeface like Fraktion can take on an elemental role within an elegant, refined brand identity. Font in Use 👉 PP Fraktion Sans & Fraktion Mono By @byotherstudio For @thematchakyoto Every detail of @thematchakyoto identity is designed to be felt as much as seen. The packaging and printed materials use textured, uncoated stocks to mirror the raw, organic qualities of stone-ground matcha. Subtle grain, soft shadows and fine lines create a quiet tactility that reflects the care behind every handpicked leaf. Each element of the identity was considered to evoke a sense of calm, craft and connection. A continuation of the brand’s visual language in physical form. #pangrampangram

Matcha branding tends to follow a familiar formula. Vibrant greens dominate the palette, whisks mid-motion fill the frame, and the usual cast of bamboo, tea bowls and ceremonial gestures make their predictable appearance. It often works, but it also means most matcha brands end up looking remarkably similar. When @byotherstudio began working with The Matcha Kyōto, Creative Director Samuel Gadd knew the path forward required restraint rather than decoration. Continue reading the case study at our link in bio. ——— CREDITS Graphic Design: @byotherstudio Typography: Fraktion by @pangram.pangram
