Sexual assault is a crime that somehow manages to be both at the same time: happening everywhere while being completely invisible. If we, as family, friends, communities and socities fail to create a safe space that allows survivors to come forward to seek help or report being sexually assaulted, how can we expect for this crisis ever to come to an end?

The average age of victims ranges from 18- 39.

On average there are 463,634 victims of rape and sexual assault each year in the US.
1 in 5 women and 1 in 71 men will be raped at some point in their lives.
The average age of victims ranges from 12-34.

LGBTQ Community
47% of bisexual men experience sexual violence. 40% of gay men report experiencing
sexual violence.
1 in 5 bisexual women report being raped.
1 in 8 lesbian women be sexually assaulted.

Something has to change.
We need to pay more attention to sexual abuse and sexual harrassement.

Our DNA ist what makes us us. We each carry it as that which makes us individuals. Distinct from one another. In the case of sexual assault, it could be the missing link that could lead the investigation to the perpetrator of the crime. It is therefore crucial that the clothes worn during the assault don’t get washed, to ensure that as much DNA evidence as possible gets preserved. Spread this message. It might help someone in the future.
