Shoutout to @sublxme888 for being our artist of the week! “My work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas that I have about myself and the world that I live in. I mainly work with acrylic on canvas but I also enjoy pastels. I use interesting color combinations as well as manipulate shapes and human body parts. I enjoy playing with perspectives and depicting shapes in space in a unique way. Each piece is an extension of the way I think and how I feel.” - Randa Gahima @sublxmeart Check out the link in the bio to see more of what we do! #acrylicart #visualart #blackartists #dmvart #artistsofinsta

When we asked @sublxmeart about his artwork “Randa’s Theory” and his 2020 Experience he said: This piece was inspired by a combination of my experiences throughout the year 2020. From the protesting of racial inequality, the Black Lives Matter movement and COVID-19. 2020 was a tough year for everybody and for me personally I saw a lot of growth in myself in all aspects. Mentally, spiritually and physically, I improved myself in ways I could have never imagined. I look at this year as a blessing in disguise. I was able to create a lot of artwork and expand my view of what it means to me and the effect it has on those who receive it. I’d like to think that the way I have grown and what I have accomplished this year made me a star in my own right. I approached every piece freely with boundless creativity. You don’t need millions to feel like you have a place in the world. My place in the world is to create. #art #artist #umd #exhibit #gallery #architecture #sculpture #photography #2020 #theend2020 #theend
