Yesterday marked my fourth year as a cheer coach and fourth year having the opportunity to coach my daughter and her amazing friends! I am beyond thankful to be given the opportunity to be by her side through this journey. Yesterday was our first JH competition! I tried extremely hard to be a strong, confident, positive and consistent coach for all my girls. Yesterday I wanted to scoop my own daughter up in victory as she nailed her first competition routine, but instead scooped up all 22 of them and hugged them through their victory. Matt and I have worked hard to teach our kids to have faith, confidence, endurance, strength, integrity and give 100% while we stood as supportive rocks by their side if they wobble, waiver or ever need support. Most know I’m not an emotional individual and yesterday as those amazing girls linked arms as the results were called I couldn’t help but cry. Lillian was doing everything we work so hard to instill in our kids and I was so thankful and blessed that I got to be right beside her watching her sore in life. Lillian and her amazing team not only dominated yesterday on the mat but showed remarkable character and sportsmanship. I am a proud coach and a blessed mom. I am so thankful I get to stand by her side, even if she gets frustrated that I need a picture from time to time. Yesterday those remarkable girls walked away with first place in their division, judges choice in cheer, jumps, tumbling, pyramid and overall grand champions of all the JH squads.
