BZR WKND Jamaica is officially moving to Sunday, December 20. 🇯🇲

We know the move hurts. Some of you already booked flights, hotels and time off for October. If December doesn’t work for you, the festival is offering refunds. Head to @BZRWeekend to read their full announcement.

Now here’s the upside. December 20 lands right in Jamaica’s peak season, when the diaspora comes home for Christmas and the whole island is outside. Tourism accounts for about 30% of Jamaica’s economy. A big show in the middle of the holidays means longer trips and more money moving through hotels, drivers, vendors and cooks.

Your ticket is still good. Organizers say a press conference is coming this week with more details.

Same island. Better timing.

December 20: you still pulling up? 👇🏾

The countdown to BZR WKND is officially on, so there was only one thing left to find out:

Are Shelly and Jason actually Bardi experts… or have they been serving bogus answers this whole time? 😭

We put a series of wild quotes in front of them and made them decide:

💅 BARDI — Cardi really said it.
🚫 BOGUS — absolutely made up.

Play along and tell us how many YOU got right.

Count who gets paid when 50,000 people come to Kingston.

@bzrweekend runs October 16 to 19, Heroes Weekend. Cardi B headlines the National Stadium on the 18th, her first headlining stadium show in the Caribbean, with Keyshia Cole, Spice, Ding Dong, Malie Don, Shaneil Muir and Stalk Ashley on the bill.

The headline is the lineup. The story is the taxi man, the Jerk chicken vendor, the hairstylist, the Airbnb host and the security crew’s working four straight days, twelve months after Hurricane Melissa.

A Bronx rapper with Trinidadian and Dominican roots. An R&B singer from Oakland. Jamaica’s own. One stage, and the money lands in Kingston.

If you’re going: who’s the one local business you’re making sure to spend with? Tag them.
