A decade is a long time.

I ‘made’ my ‘name’ via podcasts uploaded to SoundCloud, starting in 2012 with a home recording named ‘Moving On’. Over the following few years I released a handful of other mixes, culminating in having the honour to launch @nicolaslutz__ @myownjupiter series. That was in February 2015.

Since then, I haven’t even attempted to record a mix at home. (If you have nothing to say don’t say anything at all.)

But I’m extremely happy - and equally relieved - to have finally found my voice again. Last week I shared a new home recording for @vass_vass_vass @thecomfort__. Vass ‘grew up’ on dancefloors I was playing to in London over a decade ago; I was ‘reborn’ observing and listening to his vision and aesthetic blossom in front of my eyes. In the meantime he has also become one of my closest friends. A true full circle moment.

The podcast is a dying artform, replaced by streams, and particularly video clips of streams. Short form content is destroying a generation’s attention span and patience. ‘Dance music’ should always be more than the sum of its parts; since the pandemic, the focus is increasingly on the parts above all else. Bomb, bomb, bomb. Video, video, video. But I learned the craft via listening to mix CDs from some of my favourite DJs: Fabric 01, Taka Taka, The Button Down Mind of Daniel Bell. A studio recording gives the artist an opportunity to present a vision beyond the dancefloor, to explore and illuminate the MUSICAL power of the eternal 4/4 kick.

I made this recording for me, and for Vass. If anyone else listens, it’s a bonus. However - I do still hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it. I’ll try and not to take another decade to make the next one. Gracias amigos. Link in bio.

Big episode of Einkaufswagen’s Erotic Dream Helpline going out tonight at 7pm (Berlin CET time)

As @catalyst.berlin and @etikettradio prepare to leave the Funkhaus and move into a new space I decided to make a radio documentary about the part of the building we know.

Today marks one week until our second gathering at the lovely and iconic @paloma_berlin !!

Kicking off the night will be co-founder of Swarm @fahd.tv_ who will be tuning his record bag to set the mood for the rest of the evening.
Followed by @ihsan3o3 who will be joining us from Darmstadt. A true character on and off the dance floor and he happens to be in possession of one of our favorite record collections.
Finally, closing the event will be our two favorite Canadians 🇨🇦 Pascale Project and @c.oile who will be going b2b again. We enjoyed their performance so much last time we couldn’t help but bring them back for round 2.

We are really excited for this one and we hope that you are too! See you soon!

Well… the time has come to say bye to summer & what a summer it’s been!

Releasing my debut 12”, making new friends, playing some of my favorite clubs, getting support from some of my favorite artists, making music, and even finding Love :)

I arrived in June for waking life (best festival ever btw) I had no itinerary, accommodation, no plan at all. Just trusting that there were beautiful experiences awaiting me in the old continent- and boy was I right!

My travels took me to 7 countries from the small town of spilsby in England to the most pristine waters I’ve ever seen on a remote island in Croatia - even Denmark where I played a venue that Phoenecia played 25 years ago. Talk about circle-closing

Ended up playing 6 gigs and 2 radio shows. big s/o to these friends for having me

back in Miami now processing what just happened. i feel so fortunate to be able to travel and share music w yall! This stems to a decision I made 2-3 years ago to prioritize new exeriences and exposure above all! Highly recommend, it fixed me lol
I was trying to avoid this getting all soppy but clearly that didn’t work lol 😪
