Last week I closed one of the most meaningful chapters of my career so far: seven years at Icelantic Skis. The full story really started at 19, when I took the bus across Boulder to buy a used pair of Icelantic skis off Craigslist for $180. College sophomore from Massachusetts trying very hard to become a ‘legit’ Colorado skier. Those skis became my favorite thing I owned, and somewhere along the way I fell completely in love with the brand behind them. After a few years at an agency with them as a client, I rolled up my sleeves and pitched @benandersonicey at OR on why they should bring me in-house to lead their marketing. Somehow they took a chance on me, and I will forever be grateful. Seven years went fast. We launched skis, told stories worth telling, and celebrated 20 years of something that actually matters to people. But the work was always came second to who I got to do it with - the people and now friends who made every single day worth showing up for. Icelantic shaped the marketer and leader I am today in ways I’ll forever be grateful for. Cheers to a new chapter - and no, it’s not making pottery full time. For now, thank you, @icelantic_skis.I’ll be cheering you on from the chairlift for life!
