Pride is important because somewhere, some kid thinks they’d be better off dead than gay.

If you had told me as a child that something I absolutely hated about myself, something I was terrified of, would one day become one of the most beautiful parts of my life, I never would have believed you.

I am so lucky to have been born this way. I am so lucky to have the community I do. I am so lucky to live my life freely, happily, and authentically. And I am beyond grateful to experience love when there are still so many people who would rather we didn’t.
